Abstract:
A heat-debondable adhesive article having two opposing sides is provided that includes a shape-memory polymer sheet in its temporary strained shape that includes a plurality of slits therein and a first adhesive on one opposing side of the polymer sheet and a second adhesive on the other opposing side of the polymer sheet. The provided article, optionally, includes a first substrate in contact with the first adhesive and a second substrate in contact with the second adhesive. The article can be debonded by heating the article to a temperature equal to or greater than a transition temperature for the shape-memory polymer sheet.
Abstract:
A scalable energy harvesting system comprising at least one charging control device, at least one energy storage device responsive to the charging control device, at least one energy harvesting device operatively coupled to the charging control device, and a plurality of bus based power connectors operatively coupled to the charging control device.
Abstract:
A system for receiving data is provided the system includes an inductive data device, such as a device that receives high-speed data over an inductive coupling. An adjustable impedance is coupled to the inductive data device, where the adjustable impedance is used for dynamically controlling ringing in the inductive data device, such as by damping ringing signals generated by circuit inductances or capacitances.
Abstract:
An ultrasonic manipulator of dental floss is provided with an ultrasonic mechanism and a floss creep controller mechanism to enable periodic floss creep during use and a reverse of creep upon a tension designation. A process controller controls floss driving and an eccentric mechanism, and a user pause function allows a stop of floss motion and a locking of drive motors to allow floss to resist undue stress and to minimize damage to drive mechanism.
Abstract:
A fluid dispenser is described that includes a dispenser, a cap, and an insert. The dispenser is flexible and includes a body portion and a cylindrical mouth portion extending from the body portion. The mouth portion has an opening defining a lip. The cap is operable to engage the mouth portion of the dispenser, said cap has an aperture therethrough operable to dispense a fluid stored within the dispenser. The insert is sized for placement within the opening, between the mouth portion and the cap and includes a substantially solid plug having a first and a second axial hole therethrough, a first reed valve operably attached to the plug to close the first axial hole from an outside of the dispenser, and a second reed valve operably attached to the plug to close the second axial hole from an inside of the dispenser.
Abstract:
The present disclosure is directed to a method for communication between an initiator system and a block storage cluster. The method may comprise initiating an input/output (I/O) request from the initiator system to a first storage system included in a plurality of storage systems of the block storage cluster, each of the plurality of storage systems comprising a plurality of data segments; receiving a referral response from the first storage system, the referral response providing information describing a layout of data requested in the I/O request; obtaining a virtual disk count, a segment size, and at least one indexed port identifier based on the referral response; and directing the I/O request from the initiator system to the block storage cluster based on the virtual disk count, the segment size, and the at least one indexed port identifier.
Abstract:
A network interface includes a receptacle configured to receive a plug, a first contact and a second contact each disposed in the receptacle, and a combination of a resistive element and a normally closed switch arranged in series with each other. The combination is coupled between the first contact and the second contact, and has a first configuration in which the switch is opened responsive to a presence of the plug within the receptacle, and a second configuration in which the switch is closed responsive to an absence of the plug from the receptacle.
Abstract:
Improved spur reduction architectures that improve linearity in direct radio frequency (RF) receiver architectures. Non-uniform sampling in the form of sampling clock phase (or frequency) modulation is used to induce phase (or frequency) modulation on signals that are being received from a given Nyquist zone. At the output of the ADC (analog-to-digital converter), the signals are de-modulated to remove the induced modulation based on the Nyquist zone that is being received. The de-modulation process results in non-desired spurious artifacts (interfering leakage signals and ADC spurs) being spread in the frequency domain. Strong spurious artifacts may be removed after measuring the induced modulation and de-modulating. For the case of weak spurious artifacts, the de-modulation for the desired Nyquist zone spread these signals in the frequency domain. Induced modulation on signals may also provide a dithering effect on the ADC.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods for programming a floating gate. A floating gate tunneling device is used with an analog comparing device in a circuit having a floating reference node and an offset-mitigating feedback loop for iteratively programming a floating gate, or multiple floating gates.
Abstract:
An online system allows multiple participants, in geographically diverse locations, to consider and vote upon a motion or other document. The system enables the participants to post questions and comments, and to propose that a motion be broken up into clauses, and to vote both on the proposed manner of breakup of the motion, and on the motion itself. The votes of the participants may be weighted in accordance with rules which are previously set. The participants may vote to link certain clauses, such that linked clauses may be treated in accordance with certain rules to which the participants shall have agreed.
