Abstract:
A wood deck connection system and a method for the installation of wooden deck panels using the system is disclosed. The reliable shear withdrawal connection system comprises a headed connector mechanically fastened to a steel, concrete or wooden girder, a wood-based deck panel having a receiver hole bored therein, and a grout agent deposited throughout the receiver hole. The deck connection system enables top-side installation of deck panels and provides improved shear strength, withdrawal resistance, reliability and fatigue behavior of the wooden deck system.
Abstract:
Sealant is statically applied to the edges of panels by placing a sealant on the inner surfaces of the walls of a container holding the panels. A shrink wrap sleeve is preferably applied to the panel filled containers, causing contact between the inner surface of the container and panel edges, such that the sealant is transferred to the edges of the panels. Further transfer occurs during handling of the container, due to movement of the panels in the container and contact between the sealant and panel edges.
Abstract:
A floor surface is described which involves a plurality of planks joined together using a 2-part adhesive system. Pre-applied adhesives on one or more floor panels are further described as well as methods of installing the floor panels to form a floor surface.
Abstract:
A process for installation of surface elements, the surface elements comprising a core, a decorative upper surface and edges provided with joining means for mechanically locking the surface elements together. Predetermined portions of the edges are provided with a glue which is present on the edges of the surface elements in a passive dry form and which may be activated by applying a liquid. The glue is provided with an indicator means which indicator means indicates the difference between a passive glue and an activated glue. The surface elements are joined to each other by use of the joining means wherein a unit of a plurality of surface elements is formed.
Abstract:
A building panel, such as a flooring panel or wall panel and a method of assembling the same into a floor, wall cladding, etc. The panel is provided with a locking means in the form of groove (6) and tongue (7) forming a tongue/groove joint for assembling of the panels. In a preferred embodiment, the groove (6) and the tongue (7) are made of water resistant material and formed with a snap-together joint.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to assembly of a plurality of joined panel parts. Some of the individual parts contain a pre-applied curable adhesive to one or more sides or edges. An initiating metal activator is applied to complementing edges and cure is activated when the parts are assembled. The pre-applied adhesive system contains monomer(s), initiators, oligomers, an acid, and a sulfonyl compound. An activating or initiating metal foil, dispersion or coating is applied to the complementary surface. The bonding is effected when the adhesive system is activated by mating the edges. The activating metal is a reducible elemental transition metal. The metal is affixed to one surface which is brought into proximity with the curable adhesive compound dispensed onto the complementing part. The invention has usefulness in the joining of wood, wood products, composites of wood, thermoset polymer panels, non-initiating metal panels, and thermoplastic/wood composites, and the like to provide self-bonding assemblies having appearance surfaces, such as wall or floor coverings, especially assemblies that used joined board-like construction members.
Abstract:
Flooring panel or wall panel and a use thereof in a wet room. The panel is provided with a locking means in the form of groove (6) and tongue (7) forming a tongue/groove joint for assembling of the panels. The groove (6) and the tongue (7) are made of water tight material and formed with a snap-together joint.
Abstract:
1 The invention relates to a novel covering, especially a floor covering or similar, based on panels (9, 9null) made of wood or a derived timber product, especially (dnullcor) laminated panels made of wood or derived timber products, with a carrier on the underside and a wear layer on the visible side. Said panels are adhesively supported, can be arranged laterally and adjacently, and are provided with laterally, optionally mutually latchable or clickable positive locking elements such as grooves (92) and tongues (91). The covering is characterized in that the groove(s) (92) and/or the tongue(s) (91) of individual panels (9, 9null) or individual surface areas thereof (921 925; 911 915) is/are provided with a filling, and a coating (95) with an extrusion (96) or similar made out of adhesive material or an adhesive initial material comprising self-adhesive and/or adhesively latent properties, and developing adhesive properties during the lateral adjacent assembly of the panels (9, 9f) which is carried out by means of the groove(s) (92) and tongue(s) thereof, and/or made out of an adhesive activator which initiates or activates adhesive properties. The invention also relates to the panels used for the covering and the production thereof.
Abstract:
A surface covering system is described where two or more polymeric planks are connected to each other by a bonding agent which contains at least one solvent capable of at least bonding the edges of the polymeric portion of the planks wherein the bonding agent is present on at least one edge of at least one plank and/or is present on a connector, like a spline, if one is used, in joining the planks. Also described is a method to connect two or more polymeric planks which involves applying the bonding agent to at least one plank edge and/or spline, if present, prior to or after connecting the second or more planks together.
