    Abstract: A new door system and related technology for a passenger carrying rail vehicle, such as a President's Conference Committee (PCC) streetcar rail vehicle, and a method for retrofitting a rail vehicle door system with the new door system. In some embodiments, the new door system includes an electro-mechanical angle drive motor, a solid door control pivot rod, a door leaf panel clamp that is permanently connected to the solid door control pivot rod, a lever arm that includes a positive locking device and that is coupled to the solid door control pivot rod, and a connecting rod that is attached to the electro-mechanical angle drive motor and to the lever arm to enable the connecting rod to impart motion generated by the electro-mechanical angle drive motor to the lever arm.

    Abstract: A door operator opens and closes a side door supported on a side of a vehicle body through a hinge, and includes: a drive unit arranged in an inner space of the side door; and a link mechanism configured to connect an output shaft of the drive unit and the vehicle body. The link mechanism includes a driving arm extending radially from the output shaft of the drive unit, and a driven arm turnably connected to the vehicle body. The link mechanism is configured to open and close the side door with respect to the vehicle body through the driving arm and the driven arm when the drive unit is driven, and the driven arm and the driving arm are connected to each other while allowing for a change in distance from a relative pivot core to a shaft core of the output shaft.

    Abstract: A geared motor includes a motor and a reduction drive. The reduction drive includes a gear housing, a speed reduction-output member, and a restriction portion. The gear housing includes a support shaft. The speed reduction-output member includes a reduction gear, an output gear meshed with an input member, and an accommodation recess. The speed reduction-output member is rotationally supported by the support shaft. The restriction portion is configured to restrict movement of the speed reduction-output member relative to the support shaft. The restriction portion is located between an outer circumferential surface of the support shaft and an inner circumferential surface of the accommodation recess. The restriction portion is located in an axial direction of the support shaft at a position that differs from a portion where the speed reduction-output member abuts in a radial direction against the input member.
