Abstract:
Compositions and regimens useful in reducing one or more of: LDL-cholesterol, total cholesterol, and/or fasting triglycerides in a subject, and/or modifying fractional catabolic rate (FCR) of LDL apolipoprotein B (apoB) from baseline to a selected time point after rAAV administration are provided. The method involves administering to the human subject via a peripheral vein by infusion of a suspension of replication deficient recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV).
Abstract:
Edema invariant tractography methods are provided. The methods include acquiring data using a multishell, high angular resolution diffusion imaging sequence; (ii) modeling the data using a multi-compartment model; and (iii) reconstructing the fibers through a probabilistic tracking algorithm using a fiber orientation distribution which has streamlines fitted to the output of said probabilistic tracking algorithm.
Abstract:
An aqueous liquid suspension containing a coated drug-ion exchange resin complex comprising a core composed of an amphetamine complexed with a pharmaceutically acceptable ion-exchange resin and an uncoated amphetamine-ion exchange resin complex is provided. The coated amphetamine-ion exchange resin complex is in admixture with a polymer to form a matrix. Methods of making the coated complex and the liquid suspension are described.
Abstract:
The invention relates to compositions and methods that are useful in etching a metal surface. In particular, the invention relates to novel acid compositions and methods of using such compositions in etching a metal surface, preferably an aluminum surface prior to anodizing to dissolve impurities, imperfections, scale, and oxide. The compositions are effective in maintaining their etching capacity and in removing smut produced by the etching of a surface as well as in general cleaning.
Abstract:
A method for preparing a crosslinked polymer coated controlled porosity glass (CPG) particle is provided. The method involves mixing CPG particles in a solution comprising polyvinylbenzylchloride and a first solvent at a temperature below 10° C. A second solvent is added and a crosslinking agent is added to the mixture. The first solvent is removed rapidly within 1½ hours of addition of the crosslinking agent. The crosslinking reaction is permitted to proceed and the mixture is then cooled and treated to remove any remaining solvent. The resulting coated CPG particles are washed and dried. Also provided a polymer coated CPG particles using for loading ligand thereon.
Abstract:
A child-resistant and senior-friendly unit dose package has a hollow container body containing a separate tray carrying a plurality of tablets or like items for being dispensed from the container body. The container body has an end with an opening, and the tray can be slid to a retracted position in which the tray is located within the container body and a dispensing position in which a proximal end part of the tray extends through the opening of the container body. The package includes a separate cap removably securable to the container body to seal the opening and prevent access to the trays. The container body can be positioned in a tray re-loading position that permits a spent tray to be removed from the container body and replaced with a new tray. Thus, the container body is reusable.
