Abstract: One or more techniques and/or systems are provided for network isolation. For example, nodes within a mesh of devices may be configured with routing rules, main routing tables, and alternative routing tables, such as at a layer-3 network layer. The routing rules may specify that packets received from downstream are to be routed upstream to either a gateway or a backhaul device for evaluation as to whether such packets are allowed to be communicated back downstream to destination recipients using main routing tables. An isolation rule may be configured to specify whether to block or allow packets. In an example, the gateway may either block or allow packets based upon whether a source and destination are within a same virtual local area network or are within different virtual local area networks. In this way, selective device isolation may be provided, such as at the layer-3 network layer.

Abstract: A dry-type transformer for mobile applications includes a transformer core, at least one radially inner first winding segment, and at least one radially outer, second hollow cylindrical winding segment. The segments are wound around a common winding axis and the transformer core passes therethrough. The segments are nested inside one another and radially spaced apart from one another, such that a hollow cylindrical cooling duct is formed therebetween. Spacing is achieved by spacer elements arranged such that the cooling duct allows a passage of coolant in an axial direction. The spacer elements are formed and arranged along the radial circumference of the cooling duct over the axial length thereof such that the proportionate weight of the horizontal transformer can be borne on at least one contact surface of the at least second winding segment without causing deformation to the cooling duct.

Abstract: An exemplary electrical converter includes a plurality of semiconductor switches. The electrical converter is configured for generating a two-level or multi-level output voltage from an input voltage by switching the plurality of semiconductor switches. A method for controlling the electrical converter includes receiving a reference electrical quantity (iS*) and an actual electrical quantity (iS), determining a sequence of future electrical quantities of the electrical converter from the actual electrical quantity, determining a maximal cost value based on the sequence of future electrical quantities, and iteratively determining an optimal switching sequence for the electrical converter. A switching sequence includes a sequence of future switching states for the semiconductor switches of the electrical converter. The method also includes selecting the first switching state of the optimal switching sequence as the next switching state (u) to be applied to the semiconductor switches of the electrical converter.

Abstract: The teachings herein disclose an advantageous method and apparatus for performing Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) for a hybrid power system that includes one or more AC grids interconnected with one or more multi-terminal High Voltage DC (HVDC) grids. The teachings include optimizing a non-linear objective function, subject to a set of constraints that include AC and DC grid constraints, for determining the SCED solution using successive linear approximation. The linear programming model used in the linear approximations is advantageously augmented with a DC grid portion in a manner that accounts for the effects of the DC grid on the AC grid, but which does not require exposing proprietary DC grid modeling details, and which conforms the resultant SCED solution to all applicable AC and DC grid constraints, including AC grid line flow constraints, AC grid power balance constraints, DC grid line flow constraints, and DC grid power balance constraints.

Abstract: Automatic reclosing of a fault interrupting device is overridden by establishing communication with a control system for a fault interrupting device operable to open responsive to a fault on an electric distribution system and automatically reclose after a predetermined time delay, and analyzing data for the electric distribution system by an apparatus separate from the fault interrupting device control system and having higher performance than the fault interrupting device control system, to determine whether to block the automatic reclosing of the fault interrupting device before the fault interrupting device automatically recloses. An autoreclosing block command is generated by the apparatus if the apparatus determines the automatic reclosing of the fault interrupting device should be blocked. The autoreclosing block command is sent from the apparatus to the fault interrupting device control system to prevent the automatic reclosing of the fault interrupting device after the predetermined time delay.
