Abstract: A method for producing a carotenoid or apocarotenoid is disclosed. Abstract: There is provided a device for processing homomorphically encrypted data. The device includes: inter-line butterfly array blocks, each inter-line butterfly array block including inter-line modulus butterfly units, each inter-line modulus butterfly unit being configured to perform a modulus butterfly operation based on a computation pair of data points received corresponding to a pair of input data points at a same row of a matrix of input data points; intra-line butterfly array blocks, each intra-line butterfly array block including intra-line modulus butterfly units, each intra-line modulus butterfly unit being configured to perform a modulus butterfly operation based on a computation pair of data points received corresponding to a pair of input data points at a same column of the matrix of input data points; and a clock counter communicatively coupled to each inter-line butterfly array block and each intra-line butterfly array block, and configured to output a counter signal for controlling each inter-line butterfly array block and each intra-line butterfly array block to operate with single cycle initiation interval. The matrix of input data points includes columns of input data points, whereby parallel input data points derived from the homomorphically encrypted data are arranged into the columns of input data points. Furthermore, the inter-line butterfly array blocks and the intra-line butterfly array blocks are arranged in series to form a pipeline for processing the matrix of input data points.

Abstract: The present invention provides an approach to increase the effective read length of commercially available sequencing platforms to several kilobases and be broadly applied to obtain long sequence reads from mixed template populations. A method for generating extended sequence reads of long DNA molecules in a sample, comprising the steps of: assigning a specific barcode sequence to each template DNA molecule in a sample to obtain barcode-tagged molecules; amplifying the barcode-tagged molecules to obtain barcode-containing fragments; juxtaposing the barcode-containing fragments to random short segments of the original DNA template molecule during the process of generating a sequencing library to obtain demultiplexed reads; and assembling the demultiplexed reads to obtain extended sequence reads for each DNA template molecule, is disclosed.

Abstract: A method of forming a titania-coated inorganic particle comprising the steps of (a) stirring a mixture of a titania precursor such as a titanium alkoxide and an inorganic particle such as a hollow glass particles in an organic solvent such as an alcohol for more than 1 h to cause adsorption of the titania precursor on the surface of the inorganic particle; and (b) adding water dropwise to the mixture under stirring to convert the titania precursor to titania which then forms a coating on the inorganic particle. A method for forming a paint formulation, a titania-coated inorganic particle, a paint formulation comprising a titania-coated inorganic particle and use of a titania-coated inorganic particle in a paint formulation is also described.

Abstract: The invention relates generally to the field of molecular biology and microbiology. Provided herein is an expression construct encoding a fusion protein.
