Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for parallel preparation of hydrogen and one or more carbonaceous products, in which hydrocarbons are introduced into a reaction space (R) and decomposed thermally to carbon and hydrogen in the presence of carbon-rich pellets (W). It is a feature of the invention that at least a portion of the thermal energy required for the hydrocarbon decomposition is introduced into the reaction space (R) by means of a gaseous heat carrier.

A method and a system are provided for processing displayed text and progressively displaying results of processing the displayed text. In some embodiments, displayed text may be submitted as processing requests to process portions of the displayed text. The processing may include translation of the portions of the displayed text from a source natural language to a target natural language, grammar checking of the portions of the displayed text, or other types of processing. Each of the processing requests may include one or more complete sentences, or other units of text. Further, each of the processing requests may be submitted independently of receiving a processing response corresponding to an immediately preceding submitted processing request. Changed or annotated text included in processing responses may replace corresponding displayed text.
Abstract:
An apparatus (1) for erasing a storage phosphor layer (2) includes a radiation source (8) for producing and emitting erasing radiation, a drive (5) for producing a relative movement between the storage phosphor layer (2) and the radiation source (8), the storage phosphor layer (2) lying or being moved in a holding plane (7), and a reflector (11) for reflecting radiation. The reflector (11) is arranged and designed to reflect erasing radiation reflected by the storage phosphor layer (2) in the direction of the storage phosphor layer (2). A further reflecting surface (31) is provided for reflecting erasing radiation which is positioned opposite the reflector (11), as considered in a direction at right angles to the direction (6) of the relative movement.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a polyalkenylamine, in which the solvent used for the reaction is exchanged for a different solvent.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing polyisobutenes by polymerizing isobutene in the presence of a Lewis acid catalyst in liquid organic phase, terminating the reaction by admixing the organic phase with an aqueous terminator in a dynamic mixer which has a rotationally symmetric mixing chamber formed from one circumferential wall and two end walls, and a mixing rotor driven such that it rotates therein, the organic phase being introduced through a first inlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall and the aqueous terminator via a second inlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall, and removing a finely dispersed mixture of the organic phase and of the terminator through an outlet orifice provided in the circumferential wall and feeding it to a phase separation. The process serves to prepare high-reactivity polyisobutenes and/or polyisobutenes with narrow molecular weight distribution.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for monitoring the condition of turbines using their coasting time. The aim of the invention is to ensure that the monitoring process is as sensitive as possible with low resource requirements. To achieve this, the measured coasting time (tmeasured) is corrected by means of a correction member, in which the temperature of the medium (Tmedium) in the turbine that has likewise been measured, is taken into consideration and compared with a reference value.

Abstract:
This document discusses, among other things, systems and methods for searching for relevant documents in a document corpus. Using, among other things, text provided by a user's query, the system undertakes a dynamic search process that includes at least one ordered sequence of searches. The results of a first search are evaluated to determine how to formulate a second or subsequent search, whether to perform a second or subsequent search, or whether or how to present to the user results from the search or searches performed up to that point. In one example, the first search uses tight criteria in conjunction with the language of the user's query. If the number of documents in the search results do not meet or exceed a threshold value, the search criteria is progressively loosened over subsequent searches. The search list may depend on, among other things, a characteristic of the user query or upon a result returned by a previous search on the user query.
Abstract:
With the method in accordance with the invention at least one monitoring limit value is defined in advance for an operating variable to be monitored of the technical device. During the operation of the technical device the current value of the operating variable to be monitored is recorded at least twice at least within a finite time interval, and within the time interval a current monitoring reference value is determined by means of an interpolation between the monitoring limit value and the current value of the operating variable to be monitored. A particular advantage of the method in accordance with the invention is that monitoring of the operating variable is possible immediately after the technical device has gone into operation for the first time and that the quality of the monitoring is refined as a kind of learning process as operation proceeds.

Process for the production of synthesis gas (3), in which methane and carbon dioxide (2) are introduced into a reaction space (R) and reacted in the presence of a solid (W) at elevated temperatures to give hydrogen and carbon monoxide. Methane and carbon dioxide are passed through a carbon-containing granular material (W) and reacted in a high-temperature zone (H).
