摘要： A heating-cooling control system includes thermostats in the discharge and return air passages, and a temperature set dial. A selection circuit energizes one of the thermostats below a preset temperature, and the other thermostat is energized above that temperature. A heat override circuit prevents a call for heat above a certain temperature. With two compressors, the first compressor is maintained off by a timer circuit for a short time to prevent cycling of the compressor. Another timing circuit briefly delays operation of the second compressor, when the cooling system calls for its operation, to prevent simultaneous energization of both compressors and an excessive demand on the electrical supply line or unit.

摘要： A flow control valve employs a shiftable spool movable between free flow and restricted flow positions. A frictional dampening force is applied to the spool in the restricted flow position to retard spool oscillation. The valve permits relatively unrestricted flow when pressure is initially applied and thereafter may shift to throttle further flow through the valve. One application for the valve is to prevent sharp pressure rises in a cyclically operated pneumatic system.

摘要： A pump is coupled with a motor in a deep well to remove fluid of variable density. The downhole motor is energized from an electrical generator which produces substantially constant volts/hertz output energy. The generator has an input shaft to which a constant torque is applied from a variable drive unit. As the fluid becomes lighter, the downhole motor speeds up and the generator produces an increase in both frequency and voltage amplitude to maintain system efficiency.

摘要： In multiple driving axle vehicles, such as four wheel drive automotive vehicles, drive is transmitted to front and rear differentials respectively drivingly connected to front and rear pairs of road wheels, a controlled third or center differential drivingly connected to the front and rear differentials and acting as a free differential until one output of this differential rotates slower or faster a predetermined amount than the other output, at which time the control acts to operate a clutch to lock the center differential preventing any further increase in speed differences. The control is sensitive to the speed differences, percentagewise, of the outputs of the front and rear differentials, and acts to bias torque in the third differential according to the derivative of their speeds.
