    Abstract: Disclosed is a means of controlling plant pests by a novel method of expressing Cry2A B. thuringiensis δ-endotoxins in plants. The invention comprises novel nucleic acid segments encoding proteins comprising Cry2A B. thuringiensis δ-endotoxins.     Abstract: The present invention provides a process using zeolites for recovering isoflavones and removing undesired oligosaccharides from aqueous mixtures, such as soy whey and other plant processing waste products. The aqueous mixture is treated with a large pore hydrophobic zeolite, such as zeolite Beta, to remove isoflavones, followed by treatment with an ultrastabilized, hydrophobic zeolite Y, such as CBV-901 or HiSiv™ 4000, to remove the undesired oligosaccharides raffinose and stachyose. The recovered isoflavones and digestible sugars, glucose, sucrose, and fructose, are useful in food products.

    Abstract: Described is a process to synthesize nano-size Zeolite A from an amorphous gel precursor which can be synthesized via reaction of NaAlO2, NaOH, and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). Zeolite A with particle sizes of ˜150 nm was made by transformation of the amorphous precursor in (CH3)4NOH solution with Zeolite A seeding. The nano-sized Zeolite A can be part of processes for making non-phosphate detergent where the as-synthesized Zeolite A used as builders, for making thin films for separation and/or catalysis, for making secondary ordered patterns.
