摘要:
CO2 emissions from syngas conversion processes are reduced by use of a multi-stage Fischer-Tropsch reaction system. A process for the conversion of syngas using a Fischer-Tropsch reactor comprises forming a first syngas and reacting at least a portion of the first syngas in a Fischer-Tropsch reactor to form a first hydrocarbonaceous product and a second syngas. The second syngas is mixed with a hydrogen-containing stream to provide an adjusted syngas, at least a portion of which is reacted in a dual functional syngas conversion reactor to form a second hydrocarbonaceous product and a third syngas comprising a reduced amount of CO2 than was present in the adjusted syngas.

The present invention relates to a stable, low sulfur, olefinic distillate fuel blend component derived from a Fischer-Tropsch process and a process for producing this stable, low sulfur, olefinic distillate fuel blend component. The stable, low sulfur, olefinic distillate fuel comprises olefins in an amount of 2 to 80 weight percent, non-olefins in an amount of 20 to 98 weight percent wherein the non-olefins are predominantly paraffins, oxygenates in an amount of less than 1 weight percent, and sulfur in an amount of less than 10 ppm by weight. A distillate fuel comprising the above blend component forms less than 5 ppm peroxides after storage at 60° C. for four weeks.

The invention provides distillate fuel blend components with improved seal swell and lubricity properties obtained from Fischer Tropsch products. The blends contain a highly paraffinic distillate fuel component and distillate-boiling alkylcycloparaffins and/or distillate-boiling alkylaromatics. The invention further provides processes for obtaining such blends using the products of Fischer Tropsch processes. Finally, the invention provides methods for improving seal swell and lubricity properties for distillate fuels.

A process for upgrading at least one of a Fischer-Tropsch naphtha and a Fischer-Tropsch distillate to produce at least one of a gasoline component, a distillate fuel or a lube base feedstock component. The process includes reforming a Fischer-Tropsch naphtha to produce hydrogen by-product and a gasoline component with a research octane rating of at least about 80. The process further includes upgrading a Fischer-Tropsch distillate using the hydrogen by-product to produce a distillate fuel and/or a lube base feedstock component.

The present invention relates to a process for the production of a blended syngas feed with a variable H2/CO ratio for use in a syngas conversion reactor. In this process a H2/CO ratio of from approximately 1.0 to 3.0 for the blended syngas feed is selected. A first syngas is formed with a H2/CO ratio of at least 2.0 by reacting methane with an oxygen source. A second syngas is formed with a H2/CO ratio of no more than 1.5 by reacting LPG with CO2. The first syngas and the second syngas are blended to form a blended syngas feed with the selected H2/CO ratio, and this blended syngas feed may be used in the syngas conversion reactor.

Lube base stocks and lube stock compositions, as well as a process for preparing lube base stocks and lube stock compositions, are disclosed. The lube oils preferably have a viscosity index above about 115. The process involves obtaining feedstocks that have a 95% point below 1150° F. and feedstocks that have 95% point above 1150° F. The feedstocks that have a 95% point below 1150° F. are catalytically dewaxed, and the feedstocks that have 95% point above 1150° F. are solvent dewaxed. The resulting products can optionally be blended, and the base stocks can be combined with various additives to form lube oil compositions. Hydrotreatment can optionally be performed on the lube base stocks to remove olefins, oxygenates and other impurities. In one embodiment, one or more of the fractions are obtained from Fischer-Tropsch synthesis. One or more of the fractions can also be obtained from other sources, for example, via distillation of crude oil, provided that the fractions do not include appreciable amounts (i.e., amounts which would adversely affect the catalyst used for catalytic isodewaxing) of thiols or amines. The individual fractions can also include combinations of feedstocks, from Fischer-Tropsch and other sources.

Light olefins including LPG contained in unreacted tail gas from a Fischer-Tropsch process are catalytically condensed using an acidic oligomerization/aromatization catalyst to form higher molecular weight C5+ products. Thus, C3-C4 olefins are readily separated from the tail gas and upgraded to more valuable products. In one embodiment, the condensation is conducted on a mixed gas stream of fresh synthesis gas and tail gas from a Fischer-Tropsch process. In another embodiment, the condensation is conducted on a syngas feed to a Fischer-Tropsch reactor and removes a significant portion of catalytically poisonous nitrogen compounds.

A process for making a lube base stock wherein an olefinic feedstock is separated into a light olefin fraction and a medium olefin fraction. The light olefin fraction is contacted with a first oligomerization catalyst in a first oligomerization zone to produce a first product. Both the medium olefin fraction and the first product are contacted with a second oligomerization catalyst in a second oligomerization zone to produce a second product. The second product is separated into a light byproduct fraction and a heavy product fraction that includes hydrocarbons in the lube base stock range.

Methods for removing sulfur from syngas in a Fischer-Tropsch reactor, and reactors including means for removing sulfur from syngas are disclosed. Sulfur-reactive metals can be used in the Fischer-Tropsch unit to sequester the sulfur. For example, the Fischer-Tropsch unit can be run in stages, using a sacrificial catalyst in a first stage to adsorb the sulfur. The Fischer-Tropsch reactor can include internal baffles that separate the reactor into zones, with a sacrificial catalyst in one or more of the zones, that can be easily sequestered and regenerated or replaced. Sulfur adsorbents can be placed in the inlet gas manifold. A portion of the Fischer-Tropsch catalyst can be converted into larger size pellets that do not fluidize with the finer grain Fischer-Tropsch catalyst and remain near the gas inlet where they adsorb and sequester the sulfur. These embodiments can be combined in any suitable manner to lower the sulfur concentration in the syngas feed. The resulting syngas feed preferably has a sulfur concentration less than 50 wppb, more preferably less than 15 wppb, and most preferably less than 1 wppb.

The invention provides methods for preparing a blended lube base oils comprising at least one highly paraffinic Fischer Tropsch lube base stocks and at least one base stock composed of alkylaromatics, alkylcycloparaffins, or mixtures thereof. The use of base stocks composed of alkylaromatics, alkylcycloparaffins, or mixtures thereof improves the yield of lube base oils from Fischer Tropsch facilities, as well as provides moderate improvements in physical properties including additive solubility. The invention provides processes for obtaining such blended lube base oils using the products of Fischer Tropsch processes.
