摘要: A trumpet-shaped slinger atomizes or aerosolizes liquid by lifting liquid from adjacent the surface of the liquid using helically oriented fins rotated by spinning the slinger on a shaft. The lifted liquid is centrifugally forced over an increasing surface area and ejected from an upper edge as droplets. When used in wastewater aeration, radial fan blades on top of the slinger break up foam and increase air circulation while the increased surface area of the droplets increases diffusion of dissolved gasses from the wastewater.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for determining an up scale factor and a down scale factor according to a scale factor received from a graphics application program interface (API) to scale a graphics data in a graphics processing unit (GPU) are described. The up scale factor and the down scale factor may be precisely stored in the GPU based on a fixed number of bits. An actual scale factor which can be precisely stored in the GPU corresponding to the scale factor may differ from the scale factor with a difference. Graphics commands may be sent to the GPU to scale the graphics data according to the up scale factor and the down scale factor separately. A combined scale factor corresponding to a combination of the up scale factor and the down scale factor may differ from the scale factor less then the difference between the actual scale factor and the scale factor

摘要: Insulating foam composition for insulation on communication cables, contains 20-95 wt % of an unmodified propylene polymer, having a melt index of 0.1 to 10 g/10 min at 230° C./2.16 kg; and 5-80 wt % of a modified propylene polymer, with a propylene content of up to 100 wt %, and a melt index of 0.05 to 10 g/10 min at 230° C./2.16 kg. The unmodified propylene polymer is a propylene homopolymer; a propylene copolymer of propylene and ethylene or an α-olefin; a polyolefin mixture containing a crystalline copolymer of propylene and ethylene or an α-olefin, and an elastic copolymer containing ethylene and propylene or an α-olefin; or an amorphous, non-isotactic propylene polymer such as a propylene homopolymer, a propylene copolymer containing propylene and an α-olefin. The modified propylene polymer is a polypropylene modified by reaction with a bismaleimido compound, ionizing radiation, or a peroxide.

摘要: A thin-film electrode for a bio-nanobattery is produced by consecutively depositing arrays of a ferritin protein on a substrate, employing a spin self-assembly procedure. By this procedure, a first ferritin layer is first formed on the substrate, followed by building a second, oppositely-charged ferritin layer on the top of the first ferritin layer to form a bilayer structure. Oppositely-charged ferritin layers are subsequently deposited on top of each other until a desired number of bilayer structures is produced. An ordered, uniform, stable and robust, thin-film electrode material of enhanced packing density is presented, which provides optimal charge density for the bio-nanobattery.

摘要: A magnetic storage device comprises an array of magnetic memory cells (50). Each cell (50) has, in electrical series connection, a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) (30) and a Zener diode (40). The MTJ (30) comprises, in sequence, a fixed ferromagnetic layer (FMF) (32), a non-magnetic spacer layer (33), a tunnel barrier layer (34), a further spacer layer (35), and a soft ferromagnetic layer (FMS) (36) that can change the orientation of its magnetic moment. The material type and thickness of each layer in the MTJ (30) is selected so that the cell (50) can be written by applying a voltage across the cell, which sets the orientation of the magnetic moments of the FMF (32) and FMS (36) relative to one another. The switching is effected by means of an induced exchange interaction between the FMS and FMF mediated by the tunneling of spin-polarised electrons in the MTJ (30). The cell (50) therefore has low power consumption during write operations allowing for fast writing and dense integration of cells (50) in an array. The mechanism used to control the array to write and sense the information stored in the cells (50) is simplified.

摘要: A multipart printing press cylinder. A pair of hubs have an inner bore for mounting on a press shaft. Each hub is made in two parts which may be positioned about the press shaft and attached to each other by, e.g. screws. Each hub has a profile section. A pair of partial shells each include a pair of cylinder frames having a profile matching a hub profile. Manually releasable latches are provided for holding each partial shell on the hubs when the partial shell profiles are mated with the hub profiles. The outer perimeter of each cylinder frame has a radius and contour defining the outer size and shape of a printing press cylinder. A surface material, e.g. sheet aluminum, is formed to fit the frame perimeters and are preferably attached under tension to the frames.
