A method for regenerating an open particle separator includes at least determining at least one parameter, as a characteristic variable of a regeneration capability of the open particle separator. The at least one parameter is compared with a first threshold value. At least one portion of a comparison period during which the parameter has reached the first threshold value is determined. The portion is compared with a first minimum portion corresponding to a minimum regeneration time in the comparison time period. Measures are initiated to influence the parameter so that the parameter lies at least according to the first minimum portion and the first threshold value is reached and/or the open particle separator is regenerated. A motor vehicle having at least one open particle separator is also provided.

A method and a device provide for the controlled feeding of a reducing agent into an exhaust gas treatment unit with a storage capability for an exhaust gas component to be reduced which is generated from a mobile internal combustion engine. The method includes at least the following steps: a) determination of a quantity of the exhaust gas component to be reduced which is generated by the mobile internal combustion engine, b) determination of a storage capability of the exhaust gas treatment unit for the exhaust gas component to be reduced, c) determination of a metering of the reducing agent into the exhaust gas treatment unit as a function of steps a) and b), and d) feeding the reducing agent into the exhaust gas treatment unit.

A device includes an injector for a liquid having at least one pressure sensor, preferably an integrated pressure sensor. The device is used, in particular, for adding liquid reducing agent to an exhaust gas line of a motor vehicle. A configuration having the device and methods of using the device and the configuration are also provided.

A method for operating a delivery device for delivering a reducing agent from a reducing agent tank into an exhaust treatment device of an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle, includes at least intermittently carrying out a ventilation process of the delivery device during operation of the internal combustion engine. A registration of a ventilation process first occurs. A timing unit having a preset time interval and/or a mass-flow summing unit having a preset total mass flow is then actuated. When the preset time interval and/or the preset total mass flow is reached, the ventilation process is then carried out. In particular, monitoring the delivery device by a pressure sensor can thus be omitted. A delivery device for delivering a reducing agent is also provided.

A method for operating a reducing agent delivery device having a liquid reducing agent tank, an injector dispensing reducing agent into an exhaust treatment device, an internal combustion engine and a reducing agent line from tank to injector, includes conveying the reducing agent from tank to injector with a pump and providing a pressure sensor in the line. The method includes, repeatedly: determining and providing supply pressure for the injector in the delivery device with the pump, calculating an injector opening time from a determined injection volume and supply pressure and opening the injector at the calculated injector opening time. A venting procedure at a point in time includes: determining an increase of a pressure conveying volume characteristic in the delivery device, calculating an air bubble volume by comparing the increase to a target increase, and conveying a conveying volume through the injector. A motor vehicle is also provided.

An installation component for a tank includes, at least in parts, an electrically conductive material which forms a first electrode, and a second electrode which is electrically insulated with respect to the first electrode. At least one of the electrodes is applied to the installation component, in particular by a pad printing process, an airbrush printing process or a screen printing process. An apparatus for determining a fill level of a tank, a method for producing an installation component, a tank and a motor vehicle having a tank, are also provided.

An electrically heatable honeycomb body includes channels and at least one heating disk having at least one first and one second layer stack of electrically conductive material. The first and second layer stacks are interleaved with and electrically insulated from each other. The first layer stack forms a first current path for conducting an electrical current for a first heating circuit and the second layer stack forms a second current path for conducting an electrical current for a second heating circuit. The first heating circuit operates at a power of 300 W to 500 W and the second heating circuit operates at 500 W to 700 W. Exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine can be evenly heated by several independent heating circuits in a common heating disk even with different heating capacities using a simple construction. A method for heating a honeycomb body and a motor vehicle are provided.

A device includes an electrically heatable honeycomb body, particularly for treating an exhaust gas flow of a mobile internal combustion machine. The device includes sheet metal foils forming channels and being in electrical contact with a housing. The housing has a terminal for connection to a voltage source, a plurality of contact points disposed remotely from the terminal for contacting the sheet metal foils and a respective contact conductor between the terminal and each contact point. The contact conductors have the same electrical resistance. A motor vehicle having at least one such device is also provided.

A method for removing soot particles from an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, especially of a diesel engine, includes feeding the exhaust gas through a collecting element through which the exhaust gas can pass freely but which is provided with a plurality of deflections and/or zones of swirl and calming or stabilization. At least a proportion of the particles are held or swirled around in the collecting element until there is a sufficient probability of reaction with nitrogen dioxide and a majority of the collected particles have been removed. A collecting element has flow channels through which the exhaust gas can pass freely. However, the flow channels are configured in such a way as to form deflections or zones of swirl and calming or stabilization. A system having the collecting element is also provided.
