Provided is a dyeing composition for coloring human keratin fibers, comprising, at a pH less than 8, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, at least one oxidative dye precursor; at least one cationic surfactant; at least one fatty acid ester; and at least one fatty alcohol, wherein the at least one fatty alcohol is chosen from non-(poly)oxyalkylenated and non-(poly)glycerolated, saturated and unsaturated fatty alcohols, and wherein the weight ratio of the at least one fatty alcohol to the at least one fatty acid ester is greater than 2:1 and less than 10:1. Also provided are methods and devices for coloring the keratin fibers.
