摘要:
Improved endoluminal prostheses and methods for their use, having discrete position indicating elements which facilitate the orienting and deploying of the prostheses within body lumens. The endoluminal prostheses may include endovascular prostheses, often formed as stent-grafts having a flexible tubular liner or “graft.” The position indicating elements may include an improved radiopaque image marker to be applied to the graft, before the graft is deployed particularly within branching blood vessels for the treatment of abdominal and other aneurysms. The marker is in the form of a flat metal blank resembling a circular plate or “button.” The disk may be fastened or secured on to the graft using a pair of fastening shanks or tangs which extend parallel to each other outward from a surface of the plate.

Endoluminal prostheses, prosthetic systems, and methods for preparation and use of endoluminal prostheses for treatment of diseased body lumens make use of endoluminal prosthetic frame structures having circumferentially interspersed large and small expansible elements. These expansible elements, which are typically diamond-shaped, will generally decrease in length as the tubular frame expands radially. The prosthesis will often include a tubular liner supported by an axial series of ring frames having alternating large and small diamond elements, and can be loaded in a delivery catheter with the axial apices of the large diamond-shaped elements aligned with a small diamond-shaped element of an adjacent frame ring. To maintain adequate column strength, the adjacent ring frames may be attached to the liner so that the ring frames rotate relative to each other during expansion. The large diamond-shaped elements of adjacent ring frames can be aligned together once the prosthesis is expanded in the body lumen to enhance column strength.

Various devices, systems and methods for knotless anchoring of sutures to repair bodily tissue are disclosed. These devices allow sutures to be anchored to bone or other tissues, and more specifically provide a suture anchor which eliminates the need for the operator to knot the suture to secure the suture under tension. Thus, damaged tissue may be re-attached to a substrate tissue. The anchors have a minimum of moving parts and find particular utility in hip and shoulder arthroscopy, e.g. labral re-attachment, rotator cuff repair, and similar procedures.

We describe various alignable tools, in particular, trials and chisels, that may be used in preparing an intervertebral site in a spine, the site being suitable for placement of a prosthetic intervertebral disc as a replacement for a natural disc in that spine. We also describe methods of using those tools.

Devices and methods for delivering conduits into the wall of a patient's heart to communicate a coronary vessel with a heart chamber. The devices are passed through the coronary vessel and the heart wall to place the conduit and establish a blood flow path between the vessel and the heart chamber. Additional devices and methods are provided for removing tissue from a coronary vessel or the heart wall to establish a flow path between the coronary vessel in communication with the heart chamber.

Methods and articles for fabricating expansive stents having generally cylindrical configurations with a pattern therein include interconnecting portions from a generally planar sheet of material with a central portion. A pattern is formed in the sheet of material around said central portion corresponding to said pattern having interconnecting portions. The pattern has a generally circular outer margin. The pattern is separated from the sheet of material and causes relative movement between the central portion of the pattern and the outer circular margin in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the central portion. The pattern is transformed from one sheet form into one in cylindrical form to provide an expansible stent having a generally cylindrical configuration.

Described are tools—including distractor, trial, chisel, and inserter—that may be used as a system for implanting a prosthetic intervertebral disc in a spine. The distractor moves vertebrae and may have angled forks optionally offset for visibility with removable jaws optionally matching desired lordotic angles. The trial tool(s) may fit within the distractor forks, include a lordotic angle, and may include a disc portion, an adjustable stop, and a feature to control movement of the disc portion relative to the adjustable stop. The chisel tool cuts grooves in the vertebral bodies, which grooves affix the disc to the vertebrae. The chisel(s) may fit within openings in the trial, where those openings also serve as a guide during the groove-cutting step. The inserter tool, optionally with a movable pusher, is used for inserting the prosthetic disc into the prepared intervertebral disc space.

Provided herein are systems, devices and methods for the correction of spinal deformities with the use one or more implantable rods configured to apply a corrective force to the spine. Methods of minimally invasive implantation of a corrective system are provided, such as where the corrective system is attached only to the spinous process of one or more vertebral bodies. Various corrective systems as well as components thereof are also provided, such as those that allow limited movement with respect to the spinal column.
