    摘要: An air/fuel ratio feedback control system with the adaptive controller. The adaptive controller has a system parameter estimator which identifies system parameters such that the error between the desired value and the controlled variable outputted from the plant decreases to zero. In the system, a basic fuel injection amount is determined at a feedforward system. The adaptive controller is placed outside of the basic fuel injection amount determining system and receives the desired value (air/fuel ratio) and the controlled value (detected air/fuel ratio) using the system parameters etc. The calculated feedback coefficient is multiplied to the basic fuel injection amount to determine a final injection amount to be supplied to the plant (engine). Variables necessary for the system parameter calculation are limited their change of range so as to make the controller to be realized on a low performance computer with a small word length.

The adaptive parameter-adjusting device has an identification error-calculating device for calculating an identification error of the adaptive parameters and generating an identification error signal indicative of the calculated identification error, and an adjusting device for adjusting the adaptive parameters based on the calculated identification error. The adaptive parameter-adjusting device includes a non-linear filter for generating an output of 0 or approximately 0 in response to the identification error signal when the identification error is within a predetermined range. The adjusting device adjusts the adaptive parameters by using the output from the non-linear filter.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio control system for a multi-cylinder engine is provided. An air-fuel ratio sensor is arranged in an exhaust system of the engine for detecting an air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to the engine and for generating an output indicative of the air-fuel ratio of the mixture. An adaptive controller determines an amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine with a first predetermined repetition period in a manner such that the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor becomes equal to a desired value. An adaptive parameter-adjusting mechanism adjusts adaptive parameters used by the adaptive controller. In the adaptive parameter-adjusting mechanism, the adaptive parameters are calculated with a second predetermined repetition period longer than the first predetermined repetition period, and output data indicative of results of the calculation is generated. Further, the output data indicative of results of the calculation is smoothed and output data indicative of the smoothed data is generated with a repetition period at least equal to the first predetermined repetition period. The adaptive controller uses the smoothed data as values of the adaptive parameters.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio control system for an internal combustion engine has an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged in an exhaust passage of the engine for detecting an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gases emitted from a plurality of cylinders. An output from the air-fuel ratio sensor is sampled whenever the engine rotates through a predetermined crank angle, and sampled values of the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor are sequentially stored. An output characteristic of the air-fuel ratio sensor is detected. One of the sampled values of the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor is selected at least depending on the output characteristic of the air-fuel ratio sensor. An air-fuel ratio of a mixture supplied to each of the cylinders is estimated, separately from other ones of the cylinders, based on selected ones of the sampled values of the output from the air-fuel ratio sensor and a model representative of a behavior of the exhaust passage. The air-fuel ratio of the mixture supplied to the each of the cylinders is controlled in a feedback manner responsive to the estimated air-fuel ratio of the mixture such that the estimated air-fuel ratio of the mixture supplied to the each of the cylinders is converged to a desired air-fuel ratio.
