摘要: A gas mixing system and method designed to flush produce with a gas-air mixture of desired oxygen concentration to preserve the produce. The produce is placed in a vacuum vessel, which is then evacuated to a desired degree. Atmospheric air is provided to the vacuum vessel via an air valve, and nitrogen gas is provided to the vacuum vessel via a gas valve. A valve controller operates in a first mode wherein the air valve is a fully open master valve and the gas valve is a partially or fully open slave valve, and operates in a second mode wherein the gas valve is a fully open master valve and the air valve is a partially or fully open slave valve. The system automatically switches between the two modes to accommodate changing conditions, to maintain the desired oxygen concentration in the gas-air mixture. Multiple modes are possible with greater numbers of valves.

摘要: A jack assembly with a lifting handle is disclosed. The jack assembly includes a frame having a pair of elongated side members that are in spaced-apart relation, each having a first end and a second end. A first rolling member is positioned at or near the first ends of the side members. The frame further includes at least one positioning handle fixed to a side member intermediate the first and second ends and having a grasping portion spaced from the respective side member. The jack assembly also includes a lifting handle fixed to the frame and connected between either the respective first ends of the side members or the respective second ends of the side members. The position and configuration of the lifting handle enable a user to lift and carry the jack assembly with a single hand, without causing twisting of the user's hand and wrist.

摘要: A collapsible wheelchair is disclosed. The wheelchair includes a first wheel and a second wheel secured on opposites sides of a central support frame designed to support a seat member. The first wheel and the second wheel define a space within the circumference of each wheel. The central support frame includes a first frame member connected to the first wheel such that the first frame member may selectively move relative to the first wheel and a second frame member connected to the second wheel such that the second frame member selectively moves relative to the second wheel. A connecting member connects the first frame member to the second frame member in a manner permitting the first frame member and the second frame member to be selectively moved toward and away from each other, thereby, permitting the collapse of the wheelchair. The wheelchair further includes at least one guide wheel coupled to the central support frame for supporting the wheelchair. In use, the wheelchair is collapsed by moving the first frame member and the second frame member relative to the first wheel and the second wheel, respectively, to position the first frame member and the second frame member substantially within the space defined by the first wheel and the second wheel, and simultaneously collapsing the connecting member to permit the first frame member and the second frame member to be drawn toward each other.

摘要: A family of zero insertion force sockets for single and double sided circuit boards with a common stamped planar contact. The sockets are molded with common mold parts. The planar contact has a base with first and second spaced apart and generally parallel planar beam sections extending therefrom. The ends of the beam sections remote from the base are joined and form a contact surface.

摘要: A method is disclosed for forming a continuous glass coating which is free of pinholes, cracks, and the like over the surface of an electrical device. In the method disclosed, a mixture consisting essentially of an organic vehicle which is reactive with a suitable plasma to form gaseous reaction products at a temperature below the thermal decomposition temperature of the organic vehicle and a glass frit having a glass transition temperature above the thermal degradation temperature is applied in a layer over the surface of a completed electrical device. The applied layer of the mixture is then subjected to a suitable plasma at a temperature below the thermal degradation temperature of the organic vehicle for a time sufficient to remove the organic vehicle from the layer. The layer is then heated to or above the glass transition temperature of the glass frit until the glass frit fuses and forms a continuous defect-free glass coating over the surface of the electrical device.

摘要: A method of precisely controlling the thickness of dielectric islands on a substrate is provided. The subject method comprises forming a patterned layer of an etchable metal over a first dielectric layer on a substrate, forming a second layer of dielectric material thereover so that there is contact where the etchable metal layer has been removed, patterning the second dielectric layer so that islands remain only over the openings in the etchable layer, removing the etchable metal layer and then patterning the first dielectric layer. There are thus provided islands of dielectric material on the substrate having a thickness equal to the first only or the first and second dielectric layers together, respectively. The process may be extended to form at least one additional layer of dielectric material on certain of the islands.

摘要: A system for automatically creating a denaturation curve is disclosed. In accordance with certain embodiments, a movement system including a unit having a plurality of cannulas is used. The cannulas are in fluid communication with a fluid system, which allows the cannulas to draw in and dispense fluid. A measurement system is included which draws fluid from a well into a detector to determine a characteristic of the fluid. A controller is used to control these systems and also to create a denaturation graph from the measured characteristics. In another embodiment, a plurality of formulations may be created using the system.
