摘要: A brake booster apparatus for a vehicle has a constant pressure chamber, a variable pressure chamber, a control valve, a power piston, a plunger member and a solenoid coil. The plunger member is actuated under the energized condition of the solenoid coil. The power piston is actuated in response to the depression of a brake pedal and/or plunger movement. The output force of the brake booster is amplified by the pressure difference between the variable and constant pressure chambers. A clearance is provided between the input member and the plunger member to permit relative movement of the input member and the plunger member. The relative movement generates a continuous variable output force of the brake booster.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a vacuum servo unit which is characterized in that the negative pressure controlling valve seat is arranged in a position spaced from the atmosphere controlling valve seat in an axial direction, and the atmosphere and the negative pressure controlling seal portions of the control valve are spaced in the axial direction to cooperate with the atmosphere and the negative pressure controlling valve seats. The control valve is in air tightly engagement with an internal surface of the movable power piston at an external surface thereof, and the control valve has a path provided between the atmosphere controlling seal portion and the negative pressure controlling seal portion. Accordingly, when the brake operating member is operated, large quantities of the atmosphere can be introduced to the variable pressure chamber through the clearance between the atmosphere controlling valve seat and the atmosphere controlling seal portion. Therefore, the operation response of the vacuum servo unit can be improved.

The arrangement includes a plurality of projections extending outwardly from the input member, and a plurality of slots formed in the plunger for receiving the projections.

摘要: A tandem brake booster for automotive vehicles comprises a housing the interior of which is subdivided into front and rear chambers by means of a partition wall, a front movable wall assembled within the front chamber to subdivide the front chamber into front constant and variable pressure chambers and being integrally provided at its inner peripheral portion with a front cylindrical hub member extending from the front chamber into the rear chamber across the partition wall, a rear movable wall assembled within the rear chamber to subdivide the rear chamber into rear constant and variable pressure chambers and being integrally provided at its inner peripheral portion with a rear hub member. The rear hub member is engaged with the rear end of the front hub member and is formed with a cylindrical portion which extends into the front variable pressure chamber across the partition wall and is arranged in surrounding relationship with the front cylindrical hub member. A cylindrical seal member is disposed between the front cylindrical hub member and the cylindrical portion of the rear hub member to connect the front and rear movable walls to each other and is formed in its peripheral wall with a first recess for providing a passage for communication between the constant pressure chambers and with a second recess for providing a passage for communication between the constant pressure chambers.

摘要: In a negative pressure type booster device, secondary passages 53 communicating directly with the atmosphere is formed between the internal surface of a sliding cylindrical portion 8b of a valve piston 8 and the external surface of a silencer 27, and communication means 60 is provided for being controlled to vary its path area in dependence on the advance amount of an input rod 23 when the same is moved beyond a predetermined distance relative to the valve piston 8. Thus, when a brake pedal 25 is stepped on strongly, the atmospheric air can be led from the secondary passages 53 through the communication means 60 to a variable pressure chamber 6, so that the property of the responsiveness in braking operation can be improved to a responsiveness enhancing property which varies in dependence on the manner of stepping the brake pedal 25.

摘要: A master cylinder includes a cylinder body, primary cups supported on the inner periphery of the cylinder body, and a primary piston and a secondary piston inserted in the cylinder body so as to be in sliding contact with the respective primary cups. The cylinder body is integrally formed with annular walls behind the respective primary cups. The annular walls have a greater inner diameter than the inner diameter of the cylinder body to define annular passages between the annular walls and the respective pistons. Connecting passages having a greater radial dimension than the annular passage are defined between the inner periphery of the cylinder body and the respective pistons behind the respective annular walls so as to communicate with a reservoir. While the master cylinder is not actuated, piston ports formed in the respective pistons communicate with the reservoir through the respective annular passages and connecting passages. Brake fluid can thus be sucked smoothly into the respective pressure chambers both during a return stroke of the pistons and during automatic brake control such as vehicle stability control.
