    摘要: Disclosed is a method for preparing filled polypropylene compositions comprising mixing a dicarboxylic acid anhydride-grafted polypropylene resin and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer or an ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymer with polypropylene, filler and optionally an elastomer. Also disclosed are compositions comprising a dicarboxylic acid anhydride-grafted polypropylene resin and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer or an ethylene/alkyl (meth)acrylate copolymer that can be used as compatibilizers or coupling agents allowing preparation of polypropylene compositions filled with, for example, glass fibers. The glass-filled resin composition exhibits excellent finishing properties, such as adhesion, coating properties, and printability, as well as improved rigidity and thermal properties.

    摘要: Blends comprising a polar derivative of an ethylene based polymer and a cycloolefin polymer are prepared. The ethylene based polymer preferably comprises at least 60 weight % of ethylene, relative to the weight of the polymer and polar monomers selected from the group of carboxylic acids, alkyl acrylates and vinyl acetates. It is preferably 0.01 to 99.5% neutralized with metal ions selected from sodium, potassium, zinc, calcium, magnesium, lithium, aluminum, nickel, and chromium. The cycloolefin polymer is preferably an ethylene-norbornene copolymer. The invention also relates to the applications of such blends as sealant layers and film packagings. The perforation resistance, the heat seal initiation temperature and the hot tack strength of such films are improved.

    摘要: A foamable composition comprises at least about 50 wt % of a copolymer of ethylene and alkyl (meth)acrylate having a broad chemical composition distribution (CCD), and having a melt index between about 7 and about 30; about 2 to about 40 wt % of a polyolefin having a carboxylic acid or carboxylic acid anhydride functionality; about 1 to about 10 wt % of one or more foaming agents; and about 1 to about 5 wt % of one or more crosslinking agents. This foamable composition combines ease of processing with good foaming characteristics while avoiding unwanted characteristics, such as fogging.

    摘要: An ionomer composition comprises an ionomer that is the neutralized product of a precursor acid copolymer. The precursor acid copolymer comprises copolymerized units of an α-olefin having 2 to 10 carbon atoms and about 20 to about 30 wt %, based on the total weight of the precursor acid copolymer, of copolymerized units of an α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms; a melt flow rate of about 10 to about 4000 g/10 min; and, when neutralized to a level of about 40% to about 90% and when comprising counterions that consist essentially of sodium cations, the precursor acid copolymer produces a sodium ionomer that has a melt flow rate of about 0.7 to about 25 g/10 min and a freeze enthalpy that is not detectable or that is less than about 3.0 j/g. Further provided are articles comprising the ionomer composition.
