摘要: A writing instrument comprises a writing nib having a writing tip at one end and an enlarged head portion at the other end, and a resilient seat urging the head portion of the nib toward a tip of the instrument. The nib is movably secured in a nib holder body in such a manner that a writing pressure enables the nib to move backward against the resilient force of the seat to form an ink-feed space between the head portion and the nib holder body. When the writing instrument is not in use, the head portion is engaged with the nib holder body to close the ink-feed space.

摘要: Provided is an image reading/recording apparatus capable of actualizing downsizing and a decrease in cost of an apparatus body by commonizing components and functions of a document conveying system and a recording sheet conveying system, and enabling a user to readily clean a contaminated portion even when a reading surface of reading means and a white plate are contaminated. A separation feeding means, a reading means, conveying means, and discharging means are disposed in this sequence from an upstream side in a conveying direction, wherein the reading means is provided to read an undersurface of a document with a reading surface directed upward, and a white plate facing the reading surface of the reading means is disposed in an openable/closable manner.

摘要: An image forming and reading apparatus includes an image forming portion for forming an image on a fed recording sheet and an image reading portion for reading the image of a fed document. At least a portion of the feeding path of the recording sheet is common to at least a portion of the feeding path of the document, and the image reading portion can be set to a first position moved from the common feeding path and to a second position at which the image of the document that is fed through the common feeding path is read, and a reading position at which the image is read by the image reading portion is located downstream of the image forming portion in a recording sheet feeding direction.

摘要: A test device 1 for analyzing a specific component in a test solution with a reagent by allowing the solution introduced via a feed opening 4 to react with the reagent maintained in a predetermined position in a capillary tube 3 having the opening 4 and an air outlet 5. The tube is provided with two hydrophilic regions 31,33 and a hydrophobic region 32. The region 31 transfers the solution from the opening 4 to the reagent. The region 33 is delimited to a predetermined area maintaining the reagent. The region 32 separates the region 31 from the region 33. The reagent and the solution are applied in predetermined amounts to the region 33. A measuring device need not previously measure the solution. The device is useful as an analytical device for rapid and easy analysis, and can be produced in a less number of steps because the reagent can be fixed by merely applying it onto a predetermined position.

摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a first conveying unit provided downstream an image forming unit; a second conveying unit provided downstream the first conveying unit; a first cutting unit provided downstream the second conveying unit; and a second cutting unit provided downstream the first cutting unit. One of the first and second cutting units cuts an upstream end of an image on the continuous sheet, the other cuts a downstream end of the same image. The second conveying unit is stopped during the cutting by the first cutting unit to form a loop of the continuous sheet, and then if the cutting is ended, the second conveying unit conveys the continuous sheet at a higher conveyance speed than a conveyance speed by the first conveying unit to reduce the loop.

摘要: A first conveying mechanism includes an intermediate conveying roller for conveying a recording sheet, an intermediate conveying roller shaft for supporting the intermediate conveying roller, an intermediate conveying roller drive mechanism for rotationally driving the intermediate conveying roller shaft, and a roller control mechanism for controlling movements of the intermediate conveying roller relative to the intermediate conveying roller shaft. The roller control mechanism performs skew correction along with conveying the recording sheet by rotating the intermediate conveying roller integrally with the intermediate conveying roller shaft while the intermediate conveying roller drive mechanism rotationally drives the intermediate conveying roller shaft and stops the rotational drive of the intermediate conveying roller shaft performed by the intermediate conveying roller drive mechanism after the skew correction to cause the intermediate conveying roller to be movable within a predetermined range in the axial direction of the intermediate conveying roller shaft.
