摘要: A boundary estimation method capable of readily learning the probability of existence of a boundary in speech and a speech recognition apparatus with high precision and less model calculation. In a learning mode, an estimator estimates distributions of boundary samples and non-boundary samples. In an estimation mode, a likelihood calculator calculates a likelihood of a boundary from a boundary probability density and a non-boundary probability density. In the speech recognition apparatus, a feature extractor analyzes the input speech to convert it into feature parameters of time series, a boundary detector detects phonetic boundary equivalent areas in the input speech from the output of the feature extractor, a model calculator prepares a plurality of phonetic model series corresponding to the feature parameters and restricts a time when the boundaries of the phonetic model series are formed to the phonetic boundary equivalent areas detected by the boundary detector, and a phonetic series transform selects suitable phonetic model series corresponding to the input speech from the result of the model calculator.

摘要: Disclosed is a cycloolefin copolymer composition (C) obtained by copolymerizing an .alpha.-olefin of two or more carbon atoms (a) and a specific cycloolefin (b) in the presence of an aromatic ring-containing vinyl hydrocarbon/conjugated diene copolymer or a product of hydrogenation thereof (A) which has an intrinsic viscosity (.eta.) of 0.5 to 5.0 dl/g; at least one glass transition temperature (measured by DSC) of lower than 15.degree. C.; polymerizable carbon-to-carbon double bonds in an amount of 2 to 150 in terms of iodine value; and a refractive index n.sub.D (A) of 1.50 to 1.65. In the composition (C), the component (A) is contained in an amount of 1 to 40% by weight, and a difference .DELTA.n.sub.D between the refractive index n.sub.D (A) of the component (A) and a refractive index n.sub.D (B) of a cycloolefin copolymer component (B) obtained by copolymerizing the .alpha.-olefin (a) and the cycloolefin (b) in the absence of the component (A) is not more than 0.015. The cycloolefin copolymer composition is excellent in impact resistance, transparency and heat resistance.

摘要: A fuel injection control system for an internal combustion engine equipped with a heater for heating an air-fuel mixture in cold engine start. In the system, the timing to cease injection is first obtained by the coolant temperature and the engine load. The value is then deferred by an amount if the heater is turned on. The amount increases as the heater on-time increases. Then an injection period is added to the timing to cease injection and another timing to commence injection is determined. Thus, the injection timing is deferred if an air-fuel mixture is heated so as to minimize the residence time of the heated fuel. This ensures that the fuel will be quickly drawn to the cylinder to be burnt completely and the composition of the gas is thus improved.

摘要: An exhaust gas recirculation system for an internal combustion engine employs a first control valve in an exhaust gas introduction passageway, a second control valve in an air conduit connecting the engine intake passage to atmosphere, and a regulating valve responsive to differential vacuum intensities for operating vacuum-responsive actuators for the control valves. A recirculation stop valve vents to atmosphere the actuator for the second control valve in response to an engine operating condition, to stop recirculation of exhaust gas.

摘要: The touch panel has a light-transmissive upper substrate, a light-transmissive lower substrate, and a bonding layer. The lower surface of the upper substrate is formed thereon with an upper conductive layer. The top surface of the lower substrate is formed thereon with a lower conductive layer facing the upper conductive layer with an air gap. The bonding layer is formed on at least one of inner edges of the lower surface of the upper substrate and the top surface of the lower substrate, and additionally has an open groove communicating with the air gap. The makeup provides a touch panel reliably operable with a simple structure.

摘要: An eddy current flaw detection sensor is provided which can detect a circumferential crack occurring at the deformed portion or peripheral portion thereof of a heat transfer tube with a high degree of sensitivity. Two excitation coils 1a, 1b cause eddy current B to flow in the axial direction of a tubular test object 31. A detection coil 2 disposed between the excitation coils 1a, 1b detects bypass eddy current D which flows in the circumferential direction of the test object 31 while bypassing a circumferential crack E. For this purpose, the coil axes of the excitation coils 1a, 1b are directed to the radial direction of the cylindrical protection member 3 and the coil axis of the detection coil 2 is directed to the axial direction of the protection member 3.

摘要: A switch device is configured by engaging a plurality of switches in a cam section of an operating member in a manner such that a detecting section can detect positions of operation of the operating member based on electric ON/OFF states of the switches. With this arrangement, it is possible to detect the positions of operation of the operating member by only detecting the electric ON/OFF states of the switches wherever the position of operation the operating member may be. Consequently, a switch device that is simple in construction and capable of reliably detecting positions of operation of the operating member can be provided.

摘要: According to the switch of the present invention, a lubricant containing a base oil, a soft resin polymer, and a surface active agent is applied between a fixed tab and a contact strip that undergo sliding operation in response to vertical movement of an operating part. The soft resin polymer of the composition works effective in minimizing wear of the contacting surfaces of the fixed tab and the contact strip. At the same time, including the surface active agent in the composition can prevents the lubricant from flowing to an undesired section. The lubricant with the composition above can provide a switch with a reliable switch-on/off operation.
