摘要: Disclosed is a method for optimizing a wetting current, for a device for monitoring sensors with contact switches including a current source and at least two switch/resistor assemblies (CT1/R1, CT2/R2) in parallel, including the following steps: the current source (A) supplies the circuit with a nominal current; if a voltage (Vm) measured across the terminals of the switch/resistor assemblies is greater than a threshold voltage (Vs), the threshold voltage being lower than the supply voltage of the current source and than the saturation voltage of the analog-to-digital converter (CAN), then the current source is stopped and a unit for discharging the circuit are implemented; and the current source supplies the circuit again with a supply current (Iwet_c) equal to the nominal current reduced by a predetermined increment. These two last steps are repeated until the measured voltage is lower than the threshold voltage.

摘要: Electronic devices may use buttons to gather user input. Button status monitoring circuits may be provided that apply a time-varying bias voltage to each button. The time-varying bias voltage may be held at a fixed non-zero level when the state of the button is being monitored and may be held at a level of zero volts when the state of the button is immaterial and is not being monitored. The reduction of the bias voltage across the button when the button is not being monitored prevents undesired acceleration in dendritic growth when the electronic device is exposed to moisture. The bias voltage may be pulsed by using a control circuit. The control circuit may generate a series of square wave pulses that are applied across the terminals.

摘要: The invention is directed to a switch assembly which can be used in situation in which the switch accommodates the flow of high voltage current. An actuator assembly with moveable contacts is moved by a motor driven armature. The moveable contacts are in electrical engagement with the stationary contacts when the armature is in the first position, and the moveable contacts are spaced from the stationary contacts when the armature is in the second position. By angling the stationary contacts and moveable contacts, the linear motion of the armature causes the moveable contacts to move across the surface of the stationary contacts as the armature approaches the first position. As all of the movements of the assembly are in a direction parallel to the axis of the armature, the assembly can be manufactured and operated reliably in a relatively small space. In addition, the linear movement on the angled contact provides for a positive electrical connection even in adverse environments.

摘要: A tilt sensor apparatus (36) includes one or more tilt sensors (42). Each tilt sensor (42) includes a conductive element (64) entrapped within an opening (46) formed through a middle planar substrate (38). The opening is surrounded by an opening wall (52) which is entirely covered by a conductor (54). A conductive star pattern (100′) is formed on a top planar substrate (40), and a conductive star pattern (100″) is formed on a bottom planar substrate (44). The star patterns (100) are positioned at opposing ends of the opening (46). The conductive element moves within the opening (46) as the apparatus (36) is tilted. An interrupt-driven control circuit (124) is configured to indicate a change in orientation only when a short is first detected across a contact pair (54/56, 54/60) that corresponds to an orientation opposite to a currently-indicated orientation.
