摘要: A method, apparatus and computer program for allocating resources in a communication system. An access node sends a request for shared resources to one or more neighbouring access nodes which have a strong interference bond with the access node. The neighbouring access nodes send a response identifying the nature of their use of the shared resources. The access node then determines a new allocation of the shared resources based on the responses. This new allocation is then signalled to the neighbouring access nodes.

摘要: There is proposed a mechanism by means of which information can be generated and used for estimating and identifying at each base transceiver station of a communication network the set of other base transceiver stations generating interference on certain monitored component carriers used by the base transceiver station, i.e. information for the generation of the incoming uplink background interference matrix. For this purpose, a specific communication information set, referred to as uplink radio load map, is determined which informs about an average (time/frequency) and aggregated (over all or group of served UEs) uplink load measure per component carrier. Based on the uplink radio load map received via suitable signaling from other base transceiver stations, each base transceiver station can determine the incoming uplink background interference matrix and initiate, if necessary, suitable measures for reducing interference per component carrier.

摘要: Methods for stabilizing unstable proteins or for restoring functionality to non-functional or poorly functioning (semi-functional) proteins using exon skipping technology are provided. The methods involve the administration of antisense oligonucleotides to cause exon skipping, thereby removing one or more exons responsible for protein instability or lack of functionality. For example, exons encoding protease recognition sites may be removed. The method is useful for treating diseases caused by protein instability, such as Becker Muscular Dystrophy, or for treating Duchenne Muscular Distrophy patients with semi-functional dystrophin due to treatment with other exon skipping or stop codon readthrough therapies.

摘要: A medical patient is issued an identification device that emits a first wireless signal providing a patient identification. A plurality of data collectors are placed at different locations in a medical facility to receive the first wireless signal when the patient is nearby. A separate patient event record is generated whenever one of the data collectors receives the first wireless signal and each such record contains the patient identification, time of receipt, and identification of the receiving data collector. The plurality of patient event records are analyzed to derive a report about activity of the patient within the medical facility. For example the report may indicate bathroom activity of the patient or how far and often the patient walked around the medical facility. The reports are useful to monitor and evaluate the patient's medical condition, recovery and security.

摘要: A procedure is provided by which a worker is able to alter his or her work schedule using a computer system. The worker accesses work shift positions that have been designated as being alterable and chooses one as a selected work shift position. That selection may also specify a wage at the worker is willing to be compensated for staffing the selected work shift position. The computer system determines whether the worker is qualified to perform the tasks associated with the selected work shift position. If qualified, the worker is scheduled into the selected work shift position. The computer system also may provide a mechanism by which two workers can trade previously scheduled work shift positions.

摘要: A computer system records when employees enter and exit a workplace, thereby producing time and attendance data for each employee. Each supervisor is able to configure computer generated reports that contain designated information about the employees for whom a respective supervisor is responsible. A separate summary data file stores report data for each employee and the report data are updated automatically as the employee completes a period of work. The supervisor creates a report profile which specifies items of report data that are to appear on a particular report and whether only employees with an item of report data within a selected range are to appear. Reports are produced for a supervisor by using the respective report profile and summary data files for those employees associated with that supervisor.

摘要: A method of recycling a one-piece rail having a base portion and a head portion spaced from each other by a substantially flat web portion. The steps include: heating the rail to a plastic state; feeding the heated rail through a first reduction pass to reduce a cross section of the rail without slitting the rail, thereby forming a bar; feeding the bar through a second reduction pass in which the cross section of the bar is further modified and then slitting the bar along the web portion into two bar pieces, one containing the former head portion and one containing the former base portion, as the bar leaves the second reduction pass; and rolling the two bar pieces, in a single pass line, through a series of reduction passes to produce a desired final cross section of the pieces.
