Abstract:
In a blood pressure monitor, time habit data representing daily time habits of a patient and a plurality of timings for blood pressure measurement determined by a medical doctor are inputted. The predetermined timings are variably adjusted based on the daily time habit data, and results of blood pressure measurements at the specified timings are stored in a memory. A personal computer for the doctor of a medical facility receives and outputs information read out from the memory of the blood pressure monitor. Accordingly, blood pressure measurements can be performed in timings adjusted in accordance with the daily habit pattern of the patient, so that more accurate measurement can be achieved. Because information including such measurement data is presented to the doctor with diagnostic authority via the personal computer, the doctor can acquire useful information for assisting diagnosis and treatment of hypertension symptoms of the patient.
Abstract:
A recycling system has a recycle information memory database for storing as recycle information, the information on all reutilizable products such as products produced or used under the management of the system, products treated as wastes, and products currently being used in the market. A virtual recycle product designing section is provided for estimating times when the reutilizable products are recovered as products usable for recycling as well as their volumes, based on the recycle information stored in the recycle information memory database. A production scheduling section is provided for setting a production schedule of a recycle product using the reutilizable products based on the estimated times and volumes.
Abstract:
A motion vector data storage device (e.g., a memory) for storing motion vector data is newly provided for reducing a quantity of reference picture data to be read from a frame memory when searching a motion vector. A forward motion vector search used for a forward prediction in a vector searching process for coding a B-picture is performed asynchronously with a coding process, and accessing to the frame memory is thereby dispersed. Data for narrowing down a motion vector search range in a P-picture can be obtained at the same time.

The interlayer contains a polyamide having a structural unit represented by the formula (I) below: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, R.sub.2 is a substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group, and n is an integer of one or more.
Abstract:
An image encoding and transmitting system is an image transmission system for transmitting digital data such as TV telephones. The system for dividing input frame data into a plurality of blocks before transmitting them comprises on its sending side an intra-frame/inter-frame determiner for receiving intra-frame data and inter-frame data and selecting either of them for output, and a difference collator for having the intra-frame/inter-frame determiner compulsorily output intra-frame data at the time of data input for the next frame when one or more data in each block forming inter-frame data are larger than a predetermined threshold. The system also comprises on its receiving side an picture element domain frame data storage for storing received data in the picture element domain, and a motion vector detector for detecting according to the contents in the storage a motion vector using the data in the block surrounding the discarded block in order to guess the data in the discarded block.
Abstract:
For an image data such as a motion picture image data composed of three hierarchical layers formed of slices, each of which having a plurality of macroblocks and one picture having a plurality of the slices, a synchronous word is adaptively inserted to each header of the slices and the picture according to a characteristic of the image data. It is possible to effectively perform the localization of errors. A synchronous word multiplexing system for coded image data inputs and codes image data, converts the coded data to a variable-length coded data, divides the image coded data into a plurality of data signals, and multiplies a synchronous word per a predetermined divided unit. Further, a timing signal for multiplexing synchronous words to the image coded data is generated based on a characteristic data, and the timing of multiplexing synchronous words is controlled based on characteristics of the image data.

Abstract:
An electrophotographic photosensitive member comprises a drum-shaped or endless-sheet-shaped light-transmissive carrier made of a light-transmissive resin, at least one of the top and bottom surfaces of which has maximum and mean roughness both ranging from 0.3 .mu.m to 4.0 .mu.m, and a photosensitive layer is formed on one of the surfaces of the carrier. The photosensitive layer has a laminate structure composed of a charge generating layer and a charge transporting layer. A light-transmissive layer containing fine particles dispersed in a binder resin may be provided between the light-transmissive carrier and the photosensitive member. An electrophotographic apparatus incorporating this electrophotographic photosensitive member has an image exposure light source such as a laser or an LED array disposed at the side of the photosensitive member adjacent the carrier so as to apply an exposure light to the photosensitive member through the light-transmissive carrier. A facsimile apparatus incorporates this electrophotographic apparatus as a printer.
Abstract:
An image-bearing member suitable for carrying an electrostatic image and/or a toner image is formed by forming a surface layer on a substrate or a photosensitive layer. The surface layer comprises a high-melting point polyester resin shows a good dispersibility of the cured resin to provide to provide a durable layer in combination with the cured resin, whereby the surface layer provides an image-bearing surface suitable for electrophotography. The surface layer may be a protective layer or a photoconductive layer when it constitutes a photosensitive member.
Abstract:
An image-bearing member especially adapted to a very compact electrophotographic apparatus is provided. The image-bearing member has a ratio of the diameter to the length of 1:5 or more, and the surface of the image-bearing member has a relative frictional coefficient against urethane rubber of 0.7 or less with polyethylene terephthalate film as the standard, whereby a cleaning failure and generation of blade scratches on the image-bearing member can be avoided even if it has a small diameter of 45 mm or less. The cleaning effect is ensured if the cleaning blade line pressure is 7 g/cm or higher.
