    摘要: An image encoding and transmitting system is an image transmission system for transmitting digital data such as TV telephones. The system for dividing input frame data into a plurality of blocks before transmitting them comprises on its sending side an intra-frame/inter-frame determiner for receiving intra-frame data and inter-frame data and selecting either of them for output, and a difference collator for having the intra-frame/inter-frame determiner compulsorily output intra-frame data at the time of data input for the next frame when one or more data in each block forming inter-frame data are larger than a predetermined threshold. The system also comprises on its receiving side an picture element domain frame data storage for storing received data in the picture element domain, and a motion vector detector for detecting according to the contents in the storage a motion vector using the data in the block surrounding the discarded block in order to guess the data in the discarded block.

    摘要: Encoding and decoding systems for a digital image communication apparatus suppresses any reduction in the encoding efficiency due to leaky prediction. A range correcting unit (3) corrects the range of data of a preceding frame stored in a memory (1) according to a reference value outputted from a reference value outputting unit (2). Thereafter, a leak coefficient multiplying unit (4) multiplies the data by a predetermined leak coefficient and outputs the product data. The data outputted from the leak coefficient multiplying unit (4) are uncorrected by an uncorrecting unit (5) to restore the range corrected by the range correcting unit (3). A predictive error outputting unit (6) detects the difference between the digital image data of an inputted present frame and the data uncorrected by the uncorrecting unit (5), and outputs the difference as a predictive error. A predictive error encoding unit (7) encodes the predictive error outputted from the predictive error outputting unit (6), and outputs the encoded predictive error.

    摘要: A two-dimensional discrete cosine transform computing circuit has a transform block, formed by a multiplication unit and a Hadamard transform unit, which performs computations in a sequence of Hadamard transforms followed by multiplications in a two-dimensional discrete cosine transform, and in a sequence of multiplication followed by Hadamard transforms in an inverse two-dimensional discrete cosine transform. A memory block temporarily stores input/output data of the transform block; an input/output processing block performs pre-processing and post-processing such as cumulative addition and subtraction of input/output data of the transform block. A control block controls, when performing processing for either a two-dimensional discrete cosine transform or inverse two-dimensional discrete cosine transform, multiplications of coefficients in the transform block, read/write of the memory block, and the input/output processing block. This configuration achieves high-speed processing and a reduction in scale of the circuitry.

    摘要: An encoding method, which achieves encoding efficiency, and good picture quality encoding even when there exists a picture in which a scene change occurs within an interlaced frame, is provided. A moving pictures encoding method treats a frame of interlaced image input signals as a picture, and performs prediction and encoding for this picture in macro-block units from a picture of both a forward picture, which is temporally in the past, and a backward picture, which is in the future. When performing encoding in accordance with the above-mentioned bi-directional picture, the method performs inter-field motion prediction, which treats as a unit a field, which divides each picture in macro-blocks into either odd numbers or even numbers of pixel scanning lines of this frame, and as a prediction mode, selectively switches in picture units between using prediction from a forward field motion vector for one field, and using prediction from a backward field motion vector for the other field, generates a predictive picture corresponding to the selected prediction mode, and encodes the input signal using the generated predictive picture.
