摘要: An X-ray diffraction apparatus allows plural kinds of characteristic X-rays to be incident on a sample at the same time and thus allows X-ray diffraction measurement with the plural kinds of characteristic X-rays to be carried out at the same time. An X-ray tube includes an anode which has the first target region made of Co and the second target region made of Cu. The first and second target regions are sectioned in a direction (Z-direction) perpendicular to an X-ray take-off direction. Incident-side and receiving-side Z-direction-divergence restriction devices restrict the X-ray divergence in the Z-direction. An X-ray detector is position sensitive at least in the Z-direction and can detect separately a diffracted X-ray coming from the first sample region which is irradiated with the Co characteristic X-ray and another diffracted X-ray coming from the second sample region which is irradiated with the Cu characteristic X-ray. The detector may be a two-dimensional CCD sensor capable of executing a TDI operation.

摘要: A rotary current-collecting device includes a rotary slip ring and brushes coming into sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the slip ring. The brush-holding ring has an inner surface to which three brush-holding springs are fixed by screws. Each of the brushes is fixed to the tip end of the brush-holding spring and is pushed against the outer surface of the slip ring under the resilient restoration force of the brush-holding spring. When the slip ring revolves, the brushes come into sliding contact with the outer peripheral surface of the slip ring. The brush is made of a metal-graphite compound consisting of 70 weight percent copper and 30 weight percent graphite. The slip ring is entirely made of glassy carbon, so that the brush abrasion can be reduced.

摘要: Apparatus for X-ray analysis has a combination of a rotating target X-ray tube and a composite monochromator. The composite monochromator has a first and a second elliptic monochromators joined with each other side by side. Each of the elliptic monochromators has a first focal point at which an X-ray focal spot on a target of the X-ray tube is disposed. Each of the elliptic monochromators has a synthetic multilayered thin film whose d-spacing varies continuously along an elliptic-arc. The shortest distance between the X-ray focal spot and the composite monochromator is set to 40 to 100 mm. Under the shortest distance condition, the effective focal spot size on the target is set to 40 to 100 micrometers to obtain the maximum X-ray intensity on a sample to be analyzed.

摘要: An X-ray generator includes a cathode having an emitter made of carbon nanotubes which emits electrons by field emission and thus becomes a cold cathode electron emission source. In the invention using the carbon nanotubes, any one of the following three forms is adopted to control the tube current apart from the electron-focusing control. The first form is that a takeoff electrode is disposed near the cathode and the Wehnelt potential and the takeoff electrode potential are controlled independently. The second form is that an electron emission source is disposed behind the cathode and the electron emission source emits electrons which collide against the back of the cathode so that the cathode temperature is controlled in a range of the room temperature to about 100 degrees Celsius to regulate an amount of electron emission from the cathode. The third form is that the cathode has a heater so that the cathode temperature is controlled in a range of the room temperature to about 100 degrees Celsius to regulate an amount of electron emission from the cathode.

摘要: A pulley device formed by molding resin effectively eliminates the destruction of the main body of the pulley device by an impact from the outside, such as collision with flying foreign matter, and reduces manufacturing cost. The pulley body 6 is formed to have the high-impact strength so that the thickness of a flange portion of the pulley at the side opposite the side of a rotary machine is larger than the thickness of a flange portion at the side of the rotary machine. In consideration that foreign matter flying from the outside tend to hit and break portions of the main body 6 of the pulley device at the side opposite the side of the rotary machine whereby cracks and breakage take place in that portion, the thickness of the flange portion of the main body of the pulley device at the side opposite the rotary machine is increased to thereby improve the impact strength. Further, a shock-absorbing member or a reinforcing member is provided on the surface of the resin pulley to improve the impact strength and the anti-wearing strength.

摘要: Provided is an X-ray generator comprising a cathode for generating electrons; a rotating anode having a cylindrical electron impingement surface, an X-ray focal point being formed by a region in which the electrons impinge upon the electron impingement surface; and a Wehnelt electrode for imparting an electric field to the electrons emitted from the cathode. The Wehnelt electrode has a field formation surface for forming the electric field, and an electron passage aperture formed by the field formation surface. The field formation surface of the Wehnelt electrode is inclined with respect to a plane tangent to an outer circumferential surface of the rotating anode at the center of the X-ray focal point. The center of the cathode is in a plane orthogonal to the field formation surface and aligned with the center of the electron passage aperture.

摘要: Provided is an X-ray generator for generating X-rays from an X-ray focal point that is a region in which electrons emitted from a filament impinge upon a rotating anode. The X-ray generator has a Wehnelt electrode for surrounding the filament, an attachment part formed integrally with the Wehnelt electrode, a pedestal to which the attachment part is attached, and a casing for housing the pedestal and the anticathode. The width of the space in which the anticathode is housed by the casing is less than the width of the space in which the pedestal is housed by the casing. The Wehnelt electrode extends into the space in which the anticathode is housed by the casing, in a state in which the attachment part is attached to the pedestal.

摘要: A coiled filament for an X-ray tube has a varied coil pitch to obtain a good uniformity of the longitudinal temperature distribution. The filament has a central region including plural turns having a same coil pitch, and end regions which include plural turns each of which has a coil pitch smaller than the coil pitch of the central region. The coil pitches of the plural turns of the end regions are reduced one by one by a same variation from a turn close to the central region toward an outermost turn. A value of Δp/p is within a range of 0.015 to 0.1 and k/n is within a range of 0.3 to 0.8, where p is the coil pitch of the central region, Δp is the coil pitch variation of the end regions, n is a total number of turns of the filament, and k is a sum of numbers of turns of the end regions. The k/n preferably satisfies the following equation: k/n=0.72−4.66(Δp/p)±0.12.
