Abstract: Disclosed herein are combined devices and methods of manufacturing such combined devices. The combined devices disclosed herein include an analyte sensor including a sensor probe; an infusion set hub including a cannula; and a flexible base. The analyte sensor and infusion set hub are attached to the flexible base such that movement of one of the analyte sensor and the infusion set hub is substantially not transferred to the other one of the analyte sensor and the infusion set hub.

Abstract: A set connector system for venting a gas from a fluid reservoir of a fluid infusion device is provided. The set connector system includes a connector system having a first body section coupled to a second body section. The first body section defines a bore in communication with a chamber and a counterbore of the second body section to define a fluid flow path from the fluid reservoir. The chamber of the second body section is in fluid communication with a vent subsystem defined through the second body section. The vent subsystem terminates in an outlet, and the vent subsystem directs gas in the fluid flow path through the second body section to the outlet.

Abstract: A fluid syringe of the type used with fluid infusion devices is presented here. The fluid syringe generally includes a barrel, a piston, and a check valve seal. The barrel has an interior wall and a sealed main fluid chamber. The piston is slidably coupled within the barrel, and the piston has a piston seal forming an interference fluid seal against the interior wall. The check valve seal is coupled to the piston, and it is located between the piston seal and the main fluid chamber. The check valve seal forms an interference fluid seal against the interior wall when the piston is unloaded, and it disengages the interior wall to allow gas flow from the main fluid chamber toward the piston seal when the piston is loaded.

Abstract: A method includes monitoring, via a device including an electrochemical cell, an electrical current that is proportional to an impedance of the electrochemical cell, and responsive to determining that the electrical current satisfies a threshold, measuring, via the device, a plurality of impedances of the electrochemical cell corresponding to a plurality of frequencies. The method further includes determining a charge transfer conductance and a solution resistance based on the plurality of impedances at fewer than four of the corresponding plurality of frequencies and determining the presence of electrochemical interference based on the solution resistance and the charge transfer conductance. The method further includes outputting an alert based on the determination of the presence of electrochemical interference.
