Methods, systems, and devices are described for access class barring (ACB) operations for device-to-device (D2D proximity service communications. An ACB parameter may be defined and assigned to UEs that is associated with discovery or communication operations for normal and high priority user equipments (UEs). The UE may identify a resource for D2D proximity service communications and, when not barred, send a radio resource control (RRC) connection message requesting the available resource. An establishment cause may be defined and included in the RRC connection request message that corresponds to the ACB parameter.
Abstract:
Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate Mobile IP home agent (HA) discovery in a wireless communication system. Discovery of a HA for Mobile IP can be conducted as described herein for a mobile terminal located on a network wherein movement of the terminal is managed by a network-based mobility protocol. For example, various aspects described herein can be utilized for discovery of a HA located in a 3GPP network from 3GPP and/or non-3GPP access. Further, various aspects described herein can be utilized to discover a gateway acting as mobility anchor for a network mobility protocol utilized by the network. As additionally described herein, HA discovery can be conducted in connection with DNS query formation and communication, network attach and/or re-attach procedures, Neighbor Discovery signaling, and/or other procedures.

A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. In one configuration, the apparatus is a target UE. The target UE communicates an expression of the target UE to a serving entity, receives a page initiated from the serving entity for communicating with an initiator UE, and communicates securely with the initiator UE based at least on the page. In one configuration, the apparatus is a serving entity. The serving entity receives a first expression from a target UE, receives a second expression from an initiator UE, and sends a page to the target UE upon determining that the second expression matches the first expression.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication, and more specifically to advertising discovery information, relaying discovery information, and to the secure relay of discovery information in wireless networks. Various frame structures are provided for such transmitting and relaying of discovery information. According to certain aspects of the present disclosure, security is provided for relaying discovery information. According to certain aspects of the present disclosure, compensation may be provided to a device that relays discovery information (e.g., when the relaying results in a transaction).
Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure relate to beamforming from a vehicle user equipment (UE). In a first aspect, a beamform vector is selected based on beamform data received from a scheduling entity. Here, the beamform data corresponds to a path between a vehicle UE and a base station or another vehicle, and the beamform vector includes respective phases and amplitudes corresponding to each of a plurality of antennas of the vehicle UE. A beam is then generated in accordance with the beamform vector. In another aspect, a database of beamform data is maintained, and beamform data from the database is retrieved. Here, the retrieved beamform data corresponds to a particular location pair that includes a first location associated with a location of a vehicle UE, and a second location associated with a location of a base station or another vehicle. The beamform data is then transmitted to the vehicle UE.

An apparatus for wireless communication is provided. The apparatus determines, through sensors of a first vehicle, second-vehicle information associated with a second vehicle. In addition, the apparatus generates at least one safety message to include the determined second-vehicle information of the second vehicle. Further, the apparatus transmits the at least one safety message. The apparatus improves the performance/benefit of V2V communications technology by transmitting BSMs for other vehicles, including non-V2V vehicles without such V2V communications technology. Accordingly V2V vehicles will be able to better assess the traffic situation.
Abstract:
Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) data sharing. The sensor data collected from each vehicle may be divided into common information and detailed information. The common information is broadcasted to every other nearby vehicle. Based on the received common information other vehicles may express interest in some particular detailed information. Unicast and/or multicast sessions may be set up to share the detailed information with the interested vehicles.

Systems and methods are disclosed for sharing a discovery. The method may include receiving a first announcement from an announcement device, receiving a share instruction indicating that the received announcement is of interest to the user of the mobile device; generating discovery sharing data based on the received first announcement in response to the share instruction, transmitting the discovery sharing data to an external server, receiving an update indicator from the external server indicating that the metadata associated with the mobile device has been updated, and generating a second announcement associated with the mobile device based on the update indicator.

Techniques are described for wireless communication. A method for wireless communication at a first base station (e.g., corresponding to, associated with, or included in a first cell) includes receiving location information from a vehicle; identifying, based at least in part on the location information, a plurality of cells from which to broadcast a location message associated with the vehicle, where the plurality of cells include at least a cell of a second base station; and communicating with at least the second base station regarding a broadcast of the location message. A method for wireless communication at a vehicle include transmitting location information from the vehicle to a base station on an access stratum (AS) layer, and transmitting location message information to the base station.
