Abstract:
The present invention describes a method for the treatment of lignocellulosic material which method comprises contacting said lignocellulosic material with a composition comprising two or more enzyme activities, said enzyme activities being cellulase and/or hemicellulase activities, wherein the pH during the treatment is about 4.5 or lower, and the treatment is carried out at a dry matter content of 15% or more.
Abstract:
A method and a system for relating of a value network analysis of a mission to a knowledge base of dependencies of data objects, applications and information technology resources required for achieving of such mission, such method used for optimization of provisioning for information technology resources and for prioritizing of control of data and application security and integrity of such mission.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to engineering metabolic pathways in bacterial host cells which results in enhanced carbon flow for the production of ascorbic acid (ASA) intermediates. In particular, the invention relates to increasing the production of ASA intermediates in bacterial cells by enhancing the availability of gluconate resulting from the inactivation of endogenous gluconate transporter genes.
Abstract:
Systems are provided for the controlled release delivery of active agents through the use of repeat sequence protein polymers. The systems may exist as matrices, gels, hydrogels, films, emulsions or microparticles and are particularly useful for incorporating active agents into personal care product compositions.
Abstract:
Methods for forming repeat protein polymers and utilizing the repeat protein polymers to form inorganic structures are provided. The inorganic structures may have features on the nanoscale, and the structures generally do not have the repeat protein polymer incorporated therein.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and compositions for the stabilization of oxidase enzymes during storage. In some preferred embodiments, the oxidase is a component of liquid detergent compositions. In some particularly preferred embodiments, the oxidase is stabilized by the addition of a reversible inhibitor of the oxidase to a liquid detergent. In some particularly preferred embodiments, the oxidase is stabilized with bisulfite. In further preferred embodiments, the use of a reversible inhibitor also prevents premature generation of peroxide during storage of liquid detergent. In additional embodiments, liquid detergent formulations comprised of oxidase enzyme, its substrate, and its reversible inhibitor produce active oxygen species (peroxide) upon dilution of the liquid detergent in laundry wash liquor.
Abstract:
The invention describes a method and system to optimize network bandwidth and obtain greater efficiency in transmission of messages/data in, a client-server network. The invention proposes the use of clustering of client requests and the data items in such a manner so as to optimize the network transmission as well as reduce the cost of processing involved in sending and picking/pruning the data items at server and client end respectively.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for performing storage operations on electronic data in a network. In response to the initiation of a storage operation and according to a first set of selection logic, a media management component is selected to manage the storage operation. In response to the initiation of a storage operation and according to a second set of selection logic, a network storage device to associate with the storage operation. The selected media management component and the selected network storage device perform the storage operation on the electronic data.
Abstract:
The invention provides isolated nucleic acid molecules encoding polypeptides having 2,5-DKG permease activity, and oligonucleotides therefrom. The isolated nucleic acid molecules can be expressed in appropriate bacterial cells to enhance the production of 2-KLG, which can subsequently be converted to ascorbic acid. Further provided are isolated polypeptides having 2,5-DKG permease activity, immunogenic peptides therefrom, and antibodies specific therefor. The invention also provides methods of identifying novel 2,5-DKG permeases.
Abstract:
A keeper circuit (14) is included in a memory arrangement comprising a column of memory cells (20) connected by a bit line pair (16,18). The keeper circuit (14) comprises two keeper transistors. One keeper transistor (86) is connected to control current from a supply voltage source to one bit line (16) and the other keeper transistor (88) is connected to control current from the supply voltage source to the other bit line (18) of the bit line pair. Current through each keeper transistor (86, 88) is controlled by the charge state of the opposite bit line. A low charge state on one bit line causes the keeper transistor associated with the opposite bit line to conduct and maintain the charge level of the opposite bit line.
