Abstract: The present disclosure relates to communication methods and systems for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system utilizing technology for Internet of Things (IoT). The present disclosure is applicable to intelligent services utilizing 5G communication technology and IoT-related technology, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. A Secondary Cell (SCell) method and apparatus for activating an SCell are provided for use in a mobile communication system supporting dual connectivity. The method includes receiving a control message instructing activation of at least one SCell, determining whether the SCell is a primary SCell (pSCell) based on the control message, monitoring, when the SCell is the pSCell, a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) of the pSCell, and reporting, after starting PDCCH monitoring, Channel Status Information (CSI) for the SCell.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus, in a mobile communication system, for effectively providing configuration information about a small cell that has a small cell service region are provided. The method for transmitting reconfiguration information of a small cell base station in a mobile communication system includes: when deciding to reconfigure a small cell, obtaining the latest macro cell configuration information from a macro cell base station; generating reconfiguration information about the small cell on the basis of the obtained macro cell configuration information; and transmitting, to the macro cell base station, the regenerated reconfiguration information so that the macro cell base station can transmit the reconfiguration information to User Equipment (UE).

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting/receiving using multiple carriers in a mobile communication system. A method for transmitting/receiving data by a terminal using multiple carriers in a mobile communication system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a serving cell addition control message including uplink subframe pattern information on a master serving cell group or a slave serving cell group from a base station; establishing synchronization with a serving cell included in the serving cell addition control message; and, when a command for activating the serving cell with which the synchronization is established is received, transmitting/receiving data to/from the base station through the added serving cell.

Abstract: A neighbor cell search method and apparatus of a User Equipment (UE) is provided for performing the cell search procedure with the utilization of a Physical Cell Identity (PCI) list of PCIs used by evolved Node Bs (eNBs) for a Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) which is from an eNB in a Long Term Evolution (LTE) system. The cell search method includes selecting a cell of a base station, receiving system information including a Physical Cell Identity (PCI) list used by neighbor Closed Subscribed Group (CSG) cells of the base station, determining whether the terminal is in an any cell selection state for selecting any cell, and searching, when the terminal is in the any cell selection state, neighbor cells without application of the PCI list. The cell search method and apparatus are capable of performing the cell search procedure to appropriate eNBs, resulting in improvement of network attachment efficiency.

Abstract: A method for configuring a time division duplex (TDD) of a user equipment in a communication system, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises the steps of: receiving from a base station a first TDD configuration; receiving from the base station a message including information related to a dynamic TDD configuration; receiving a second TDD configuration according to the received information related to the dynamic TDD configuration; receiving from the base station an uplink grant; and determining whether to apply the first TDD configuration or the second TDD configuration based on a method by which the unlink grant is received. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the advantages of configuring a shorter cycle of the TDD to the user equipment supporting the TDD in a wireless communication system, and rapidly configuring the TDD to the user equipment variably according to a communication situation are provided.

The terminal receives the SIB including the updated access barring information immediately without waiting for the arrival of next modification period, resulting in improvement of access barring efficiency.
