摘要: The present invention relates to a correlation module for correlating IP layer traffic and wireless layer network elements in a network. According to an example embodiment, the correlation module includes an RNC analyzer, a Gn snoop unit, and/or a mapping unit. The RNC analyzer is configured to collect wireless layer network element information from at least one RNC. The Gn snoop unit is configured to collect wireless layer network element information and IP layer traffic information from at least one Gn interface between a serving GPRS support node and a gateway GPRS support node. The mapping unit is configured to map the IP layer traffic and the wireless layer network elements in the network based on the collected IP layer traffic information and the collected wireless layer network element information. A method of correlating IP layer traffic and wireless layer network elements in a network is also disclosed.

摘要: A mobile node includes a processor, a network interface, and a storage device having computer program code for execution by the processor. The computer program code includes a network layer for transmitting and receiving packets and an intermediate driver that transmits packets to the network layer and receives packets from the network layer using a virtual interne protocol (IP) address to identify the mobile node. The intermediate driver transmits packets to the network interface and receives packets from the network interface using a routable actual IP address to identify the mobile node. The intermediate driver permits the actual IP address to change when the mobile node moves from a first subnet to a second subnet without a corresponding change in the virtual IP address. A corresponding NAT associates the virtual IP address with a second actual IP address when the NAT is notified that the mobile node is in the second subnet.

摘要: An exemplary apparatus includes a processor configured to compress an A11 message into a compressed message. The processor assigns a first value to a first portion of a first octet of the compressed message based on a message type field of the A11 message. The first portion may be three bits in length. The processor may also assign a second value to a second portion of the first octet of the compressed message based on a code field, a flags field and a status field of the A11 message. The second value may correspond to a set of values for the code, flags and status fields and may be five bits long. Third and fourth values are assigned to portions of a second octet of the compressed message based on an information element identifier and other field/s respectively of the A11 message so as to uniquely identify an information element.

摘要: Signaling paths and communication sessions, such as voice-over-IP sessions, can be established in substantially shorter and predictable time periods than previously thought possible over carrier-based, peer-to-peer networks (P2P). Instead of requiring a signaling pathway to traverse a large number of hops/nodes, novel architectures permit a signaling pathway to traverse a few designated host and anchor nodes that are part of a core of a P2P network. The novel architectures and related methods also make it possible to easily manage and maintain P2P networks.
