    摘要: On a recording medium according to the present invention, extents for a base-view and a dependent-view are arranged alternately. The lower limit of the size of the base-view extents is the larger of a first lower limit value and a second lower limit value. The lower limit of the size of the dependent-view extent is a third lower limit value. The first lower limit value is determined so that, in monoscopic video playback, buffer underflow does not occur during jump periods between base-view extents. The second lower limit value is determined so that, in stereoscopic video playback, buffer underflow does not occur during read periods from each base-view extent to a next dependent-view extent. The third lower limit value is determined so that, in stereoscopic video playback, buffer underflow does not occur during read periods from each dependent-view extent to a next base-view extent.

    摘要: Provided is a recording medium which enables special playback processing such as fast-forward/rewind although part of the AV stream recorded therein is transformed. An AV stream, a first EP map, and a second EP map are recorded on the recording medium. In the AV stream, part of the multiplexed stream including a first video stream and a second video stream is transformed; the first EP map indicates one or more entry points of the first video stream; and the second EP map indicates one or more entry points of the second video stream. In the AV stream, TS packets constituting I-pictures, of the first video stream, indicated by every 4N-th entry point in the first EP map, and TS packets constituting I-pictures, of the secondary video stream, indicated by the entry points whose presentation time is closest to the presentation time of any one of the every 4N-th entry point in the first EP map.

The monoscopic video specific section includes a continuous arrangement of a copy of the main-view extent arranged in the stereoscopic video specific section. The extended data specific section includes one of the extended extents that is to be used in combination with the copy of the main-view extent arranged in the monoscopic video specific section. The shared section is accessed when stereoscopic video images are played back, when monoscopic video images are played back, and when an extended stream is used. The stereoscopic video specific section is accessed during playback of the stereoscopic video images. The monoscopic video specific section is accessed during playback of the monoscopic video images. The extended data specific section and the monoscopic video specific section are accessed when the extended stream is read, immediately before or after a long jump.

    摘要: A device for displaying stereoscopic video images on a screen includes a receiving unit, signal processing unit, and display unit. The receiving unit receives stream data including left-view frames and right-view frames of stereoscopic images. The signal processing unit alternately extracts left-view frames and right-view frames from the stream data. Over one frame period of the stereoscopic video images, the signal processing transmits a pair of a left-view frame and a right-view frame when the control information indicates a 3D playback mode, and transmits only a left-view frame when the control information indicates a 2D playback mode. The display unit displays each frame transmitted from the signal processing unit for a predetermined time on the screen.

    摘要: A pair of main-view and sub-view video streams and a graphics stream are recorded on a BD-ROM disc. Metadata is provided in each GOP in the sub-view video stream. The metadata includes offset information. The offset information specifies offset control for a plurality of pictures constituting a GOP. Offset control is to provide a left offset and right offset for the horizontal coordinates in a graphics plane to generate a pair of graphics planes, and to combine them separately with main-view and sub-view video planes. The sub-view video stream is packetized and multiplexed in a transport stream. A header of each TS packet includes a TS priority flag. TS packets containing the metadata have a different value of TS priority flag from TS packets containing sub-view pictures.
