An apparatus for enhancing audio comprising a first interface and a harmonizing module is disclosed. The first interface receive a first audio segment from a first source. The harmonizing module is coupled to the first interface. The harmonizing module is configured to identify at least one musical property of the first audio segment; calculate a subset of notes that are harmonious with the first audio segment based on the at least one musical property; and select from the subset of notes to generate an audio track to be played substantially synchronously with the first audio segment. A second interface may also be provided to receive a second audio segment from a second source. In this case, the harmonizing module may be configured to generate the audio track by transforming one or more notes of the second audio segment. A method is also provided.

A thermal interface material includes a mechanically compliant vertically aligned nanofiber film and a binder material for joining the nanofibers of the film to the surfaces of two substrates. Preferably, the binder material comprises a non-hydrocarbon-based material such as a metallic eutectic with a melting temperature below a nanofiber thermal damage threshold temperature of the film. The film is grown on a substrate which is then bonded to another substrate by the binder material in an adhesion process that may include pressure and heat. Alternatively, the film may be released from the substrate to produce a stand-alone thermal tape which may later be placed between two substrates and bonded.

A method and apparatus for obtaining a biopsy from an artery includes the steps of: inserting a catheter into an artery, positioning the catheter at a desired location within the artery, cutting a biopsy sample from the inner surface of the artery, and withdrawing the catheter and biopsy sample from the artery with the biopsy sample protected and its orientation with respect to its parent tissue preserved. The catheter includes an inner tube coupled to a vacuum source and having a beveled opening for contacting the artery. An outer tube is slidably mounted to the inner tube and has a cutting edge which slides over and severs arterial tissue retained in the beveled opening.

An arterial biopsy catheter for obtaining a biopsy sample from the inner layers of an artery includes an outer tube and an inner tube slidingly mounted within the outer tube. The inner tube is formed with a closed distal end having a beveled opening. The outer tube is formed with an open distal end having a sharpened circumferential edge adapted to cut arterial material in contact with the beveled opening by sliding the outer tube over the inner tube. The inner tube and outer tube are attached to handles for manipulation by an operator. In use, a vacuum is applied through the inside diameter of the inner tube to the beveled opening, to draw arterial material into contact with the beveled opening. The outer tube is then manipulated to sever the arterial material to form the biopsy sample. The inner and outer tubes are then withdrawn from the artery with the biopsy material held in the beveled opening.
