    摘要: A fibre-type light conversion device comprises a fibre-type conversion element for changing the wavelength of an incident light and a converging lens for converging said incident light whose wavelength is changed by the conversion element. The device is characterized in that the converging lens is a single lens having an aspherical surface configured such that a distance Zi from a plane perpendicular to an optical axis of the lens and passing an extremity of the lens to a point on the aspherical surface having a height Y from the optical axis is expressed by the following equation ##EQU1## where Ci is an inverse number of the radius of curvature of the "i"th surface at an intersecting point between the "i"th surface and the optical axis, Ki, A.sub.1 (i).about.A.sub.10 (i) are constants, and Y is the height from the optical axis to the refracting surface.

    摘要: An integrated semiconductor light-emitting device suitable for being mounted on a pickup is provided. The integrated semiconductor light-emitting device has a first laser part stacked on a semiconductor substrate and a projection-shaped second laser part formed by stack in thin-film-layer form. The second laser part is fitted into a trench formed adjacent to the first laser part in the semiconductor substrate. At least the first and second laser parts and the trench are bonded together through a metal bonding layer. An emission spot of the first laser part and an emission spot of the second laser part are located away in approximately the same horizontal direction perpendicular to the direction of the stack of the first and second laser parts.

    摘要: An optical waveguide recording medium including an optical waveguide having a photocoupler for receiving a light beam, and a plurality of refractive index-discontinuous portions aligned on the optical waveguide. One of the refractive index-discontinuous portions includes a diffraction grating having grooves extending approximately perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the optical waveguide at equal intervals which gradually become narrower or wider as the distance of that refractive index-discontinuous portion from the photocoupler increases. This recording medium ensures that information is recorded with high density. A playing apparatus for an optical waveguide recording medium includes a light emitting means for generating a light beam with a modulated wavelength, an irradiating means for guiding the light beam to the photocoupler, a photodetecting means for performing photoelectric conversion of the light beam to provide an electric output, and a light-receiving means for guiding reflected signal light, reflected for each wavelength at the refractive index-discontinuous portions, subjected to amplitude and phase modulations, and returning via the photocoupler, to a light-receiving section of the photodetecting means.
