摘要: The present invention relates to a robot-based autism diagnosis device using an electroencephalogram and to a method therefor. The invention comprises: an electroencephalogram signal detector which is worn on or attached to the head of a child showing signs of autism and detects an electroencephalogram signal generated following an event which is provided; and a robot for diagnosing the degree of autism on receiving the electroencephalogram signal detected by the electroencephalogram signal detector. In the invention, a relatively accurate judgment is made as to whether autism is present, and autism diagnosis is achieved at an early stage such that autistic children can receive treatment for the signs of autism at an early stage.

摘要: Apparatus (10) for evoking and recording bio-potentials from a human subject and methods of use are described. The apparatus (10) includes a flexible member (18) with a layer of conductive material (12) disposed thereon for contacting a skin surface on the human subject. The dimensions and shape of the flexible member (18) are adapted for conforming contact between the conductive material (12) and the skin surface. A stimulus delivery element (28) is coupled to the flexible member (18) for delivering a sensory stimulus to the subject to evoke bio-potentials, which are detected and received through the layer of conductive material (12).

摘要: The present invention discloses a method for monitoring the blood flow in the cerebral vasculature of a subject. The method includes measuring the electrophysiological activity of different regions in the brain in the excited or unexcited state. The measured electrophysiological activity of each region is then compared with the baseline of the electrophysiological activity of that region for the corresponding state. External stimuli or the performance of specific tasks by the subject can be used to excite different regions of the brain. Any deviation in the measured electrophysiological activity from the baseline indicates an altered blood flow in that region of the brain. Identification of this particular region of the brain which has altered activity can be carried out based on the external stimuli that resulted in the altered activity. Specific branches of the cerebral vasculature with an altered blood flow may also be determined based on the regions of the brain showing altered electrophysiological activity.

摘要: Systems and methods of employing experimental tasks, neurological and physiological recording devices, and a sequenced process of data acquisition and analysis to produce measurements of pre-verbal and pre-conscious brain processes. An array of measurement devices are connected non-invasively to an individual (the subject). The subject experiences one or more external stimuli via any combination of senses, including visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or gustatory. Experimental tasks, data acquisition, analysis, and/or presentation steps are processed to ascertain the subject's pre-verbal and pre-conscious responses to the external stimuli, including attentional triggering, emotional valence and arousal, interest, engagement, and activation of higher cognitive processes such as memory, preference formation, and decision making.

摘要: The invention discloses an electrogustograph for detecting the physiological responses of the tongue to various tastants applied thereto through a small vacuum sensor. The small sensor has a peripheral annual vacuum port by which the sensor is attached to the top surface of the tongue. The annular vacuum port surrounds a cavity which has one port for insertion of the tastant which flows across the surface of a portion of the tongue to a second port which serves as an outlet for the tastant. Electrodes are present in the sensor and on the cheek of the person being tested so as to measure the difference in the flow of electricity across the top surface of the tongue when various tastants are applied to the tongue. The electrogustograph is supported by suitable electronics and fluid flow pumps and valves all under the control of a microcontroller to provide a flexible and relatively easy to use electrogustographic system.
