摘要: A method of insulating the roof of a building by a strip of vinyl stretching a sheet of vinyl material between two structural beams of a building. A plurality of such sheets of vinyl backed fiberglass insulation are fastened side-by-side to each other to cover the area desired. Purlin clips are utilized to attach to purlin structural members extending across from one of the structural beams to the other and these are placed in a series of straight lines at predetermined intervals. These purlin clips have an aperture therein so that a band of metal can be threaded through each successive ones of the clips for the purpose of supporting the bottom side of the sheets of vinyl at even intervals along the length thereof. The adjacent edges of the vinyl sheets are positioned so that they will hang down and so that it can be separated by hand to permit loose insulation, such as chopped up fiberglass insulation to be blown between the vinyl sheets. After the entire area formed by the sheets of vinyl is filled, then the adjacent edges of the sheets of vinyl material are stapled together while in the such lower position thereof and then they are stuffed back up through the seam to a position above the vinyl sheets.

摘要: A ceiling insulation structure for an attic which includes a "sheetrock" or "dry wall" ceiling carried by attic ceiling joists in spaced relationship, insulating material provided between the ceiling joists and covering the sheetrock and a water vapor-permeable film or membrane of selected thickness covering the insulating material and the ceiling joists to prevent air from circulating through the insulating material and reducing the efficiency of the insulating material. A method for increasing the efficiency of insulating material in an attic which includes covering the insulating material and the ceiling joists with a water vapor-permeable film or membrane of selected thickness.

摘要: Insulation configurations for the ceiling, floor and walls of structures, which include in a first embodiment, at least one layer of particulate or "blown" insulation with a water vapor-permeable film or films isolating the layer or layers to limit air circulation and infiltration through the layers. In another embodiment, sheets of a moisture vapor-permeable film membrane are provided in association with insulating "batts" or rolled sheet, fibrous, non-solid insulation to divide the insulation into discrete layers and limit air infiltration through the layers. A method for increasing the efficiency of insulating material in structures, which includes providing one or more moisture or water vapor-permeable membrane films or membranes in association with the insulating material to isolate the insulation in discrete layers and limit air infiltration and circulation through the layers.

Insulation is disposed on the insulation support material, between the spaced apart structural members and directly under the bottommost surfaces of the structural members.

摘要: Disclosed is waterproofing sheeting that uses a polyester layer that provides high lateral stability and puncture resistance. The waterproof sheeting can be used in many applications including waterproof roof underlayments, waterproof sheeting for foundations, underlayment for tile and flooring and various other applications. The waterproof sheeting can be manufactured without many of the problems associated with the granular coatings of existing waterproof sheeting that create excessive wear and environmental hazards.
