The method also includes transmitting, by the LTU, the one or more LTU broadcast positioning reference signals usable for determination of a position of at least one mobile wireless device, with the one or more LTU broadcast positioning reference signals being detectable by the at least one mobile wireless device.

    摘要: Described herein is a method of setting-up a range-based tracking system utilising a tracking coordinate system that uses a plurality of spaced apart stationary nodes for tracking objects within a tracking environment. The method includes the step of transmitting signals between the stationary nodes to obtain range information between at least a subset of pairs of the nodes and determining coordinates for all of the stationary nodes in a node coordinate system using these range information. The method also includes the step of obtaining spatial information related to at least one of the nodes, the spatial information being indicative of one or more features or locations within the tracking environment and determining the location of all stationary nodes in the tracking coordinate system, wherein some or all of the coordinates of the stationary nodes are used for tracking objects in the tracking system.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for scanning, by an asset tag manager during a scanning window, for wireless broadcasts from beacon devices. The method further filters the wireless broadcasts to generate a subset of the wireless broadcasts. The method continues by identifying, within the subset of the wireless broadcasts, a first wireless broadcast with a first data packet in view of an indication that a first beacon device is within a specified distance from the asset tag manager. The method proceeds by parsing the first data packet to locate a first beacon identifier associated with a first beacon device. The method also creates a second data packet with the first beacon identifier and an asset tag identifier associated with the asset. The method transmits a second wireless broadcast comprising the second data packet, the second wireless broadcast to be received by a hub.

    摘要: A technique for deriving the locations of one or more wireless base stations is disclosed. After initializing values for the base station location coordinates, a server acquires reference coordinates of a wireless terminal, which are provided from an independent source, and also acquires values for one or more time-of-occurrences of events associated with signals that travel between the wireless terminal and the base stations. The server generates predicted coordinates of the wireless terminal, based in part on the current base station coordinates, by using trilateration. The server then generates updated base station coordinate values, based on a method of least squares, in which each residual is a difference between the reference and predicted coordinates of each wireless terminal location, for one or more wireless terminals. The server modifies the base station coordinate values so as to minimize the least-squares function.

In some embodiments, a device of the present disclosure includes a housing that includes a processor and a wireless radio. The device includes a clip that secures the housing adjacent to and a predetermined distance from a portion of a light tube that produces light. The device includes a solar cell that is configured to be exposed to the light from the light tube upon the housing being securely attached via the one or more clips adjacent to the portion of the light tube. The device includes a circuit by which power is converted from the solar cell to the processor and the wireless radio via at least one switch. The wireless radio can broadcast a beacon provided by the processor.
