    Abstract: An apparatus with display and base for media cases and/or packaging is provided. This includes, but is not limited to, the cases or packaging for DVDs, Blu-ray Discs, CDs, video or computer games, and VCR tapes. The apparatus, called a “Personal Marquee,” is capable of holding an individual case standing upright such that a substantial portion of the cover of the case is visible to the user. The artwork on the apparatus is designed to evoke the sense of the facade of a classical movie theater with its “Now Showing” marquee. The media display includes a base for support, an upright section for holding the media case, and a riser if necessary to accommodate cases of different sizes. The upright is attached to the base or is integral with the base and has an opening in front through which the media case is visible.

    Abstract: A sound-producing folding insert for a magazine is disclosed. A foldable support structure comprises a primary page and a secondary page. The secondary page is folded upon itself to form a pocket that retains a sound emitting means. The sound emitting means includes an electronic microchip sound generating device that includes a switch means connected at one end to a slidable tongue mechanism that is attached at the other end to the primary page, such that upon opening of the folding insert by separating the primary and secondary pages the slidable tongue mechanism allows the switch means to close, thereby activating the sound emitting means. Conversely, closing the folding insert brings the primary and secondary pages together forces the slidable tongue mechanism to open the switch means, and thereby deactivating the sounds emitting means. The sound emitting means is relatively flat and includes a generally flat speaker mounted to the secondary page. Generally flat button batteries are included to power the device when the sound emitting means is activated.

    Abstract: A double-sided USB connector may include a first PCB that may provide a first set of electrical contacts on its first side and solder pads on its second side. The first PCB may further include a components side, solder pads, and signal traces. The double-sided USB connector may also include a second PCB that may provide a second set of electrical contacts on its first side and terminals on its second side. Contacts selected from the second set of contacts may be connected to selected terminals, for example through via paths in the second PCB. Contacts from the first and second sets of contacts may selectively be connected to components on the first PCB using signal traces rather than wires. The first PCB may be joined to the second PCB by using the terminals, and the two PCBs may be packaged using a common molded body.

    Abstract: A flash memory mass storage drive stores user files in a convenient credit card sized drive. Embodiments function as both a credit card and a mass storage drive. Communication may be through a host interface connector such as a USB connector, a magnetic interface, a smart card interface, and/or a near field communication interface. The system included a clamshell style case (12) with specific security measures built in to protect the object from pilferage, while providing visual access.
