The field emission cathode structure includes a first metal plate, a second metal plate, and an electron emitter. One end of the electron emitter extends out of the first metal plate and the second metal plate to act as an electron emission end.

    Abstract: An X-ray tube is provided. The X-ray tube includes a first housing including an X-ray window formed therein, a second housing being rotatable about a rotational shaft installed within the first housing, an anode installed on the rotational shaft within the second housing and positioned in one side of the rotational shaft in an extending direction of the rotational shaft, an emitter installed on the rotational shaft within the second housing, positioned in the other side of the rotational shaft in the extending direction of the rotational shaft, and emitting electron beams, a lens unit installed between the anode and the emitter and focusing the electron beams emitted from the emitter to the anode, and an electron beam deflection unit installed on the rotational shaft to deflect an angle of electron beams moving toward the anode from the lens unit.

    Abstract: A compact apparatus can form multi-X-ray beams with good controllability. Electron beams (e) emitted from electron emission elements (15) of a multi-electron beam generating unit (12) receive the lens effect of a lens electrode (19). The resultant electron beams are accelerated to the final potential level by portions of a transmission-type target portion (13) of an anode electrode (20).     Abstract: An apparatus for producing x-rays for use in imaging applications having a piezoelectric or pyroelectric crystal with an upper surface and a conducting film coating the upper surface. The crystal includes a plurality of field emitters formed as micrometer-scale exposed regions in the crystal having a one or more sharp peaks or ridges, or parallel trenches forming a wedge shaped emitter. The crystal is alternately heated and cooled over a period of time so that spontaneous charge polarization occurs in the crystal. The spontaneous charge polarization causes a perpendicular electric field to arise on the crystal's top and bottom faces, that is enhanced by the sharp peaks or ridges, thereby causing field emission of surface electrons from that location. X-rays are produced when the emitted electrons strike a target material located adjacent to the emitting face, and the X-rays may be filtered or collimated.

    Abstract: A miniature X-ray tube for intravascular or intracorporeal radiation treatment in living beings is proposed. The X-ray tube comprises a cylindrical housing section with a longitudinal axis. The miniature X-ray tube also comprises a cylindrical or cylindrical-tube-shaped first field emission cathode arranged concentrically about the longitudinal axis in the housing with a plurality of carbon nanotubes which emit electrons radially outward. The miniature X-ray tube also comprises a second field emission cathode in the housing with a plurality of carbon nanotubes which emit electrons in the direction of longitudinal axis. The miniature X-ray tube only emits little heat and is robust against mechanical stresses.
