摘要： A linear motor of the present invention has: a stator having a stationary iron core and a magnet wire; a mover having a moving iron core and a magnet; and a plate-shaped elastic member for supporting the mover in a manner to rock in the rocking directions. This construction eliminates a sliding portion for supporting the mover so that it can reduce the loss, which might otherwise accompany the reciprocation of the mover. Moreover, a linear compressor using this linear motor is high in efficiency and reliability.

The control housing accommodates a control circuit and a pair of sensors to sense change in parameters associated with the rotating group. One of the sensors is positioned adjacent the barrel on the rotating group to sense rotational speed and the other senses displacement of the swashplate. The control housing accommodates a control valve and accumulator to supply fluid to the control valve.

The piston divides the cylinder into a first chamber and a second chamber, which communicate with each other through the gap. A stable central position of the piston is obtained by means of the wedge-shaped gap, which mainly determines a pressure difference between the first chamber and the second chamber.
