Abstract:
The present invention provides a low pressure and low temperature steam cleaner for washing vehicles. A vaporizing unit which vaporizes water at low temperature and low pressure is used to supply steam through a delivery device, such as a wand, to clean a car. The steam supplied is applied to the car, often with various chemicals, to lift and remove dirt and debris. Because the steam is supplied at low temperature and pressure, very little water and/or chemicals are needed, and the propensity of damaging the car's finish is reduced. For similar reasons, one can use the same device to clean the interior of the car (including generally water-averse materials such as fabrics and leather), thus, providing the above described advantages.
Abstract:
The crop spraying device of the present invention is disclosed herein comprises a crop sprayer boom on a pendulum wherein the pendulum pivot is attached to a moving vehicle. The crop sprayer boom may comprise a center section with a spray boom attached on either side. The pendulum arm length is selected or adjusted to produce a natural frequency of pendulum oscillation that is not harmonic with the principal modal frequencies of the crop sprayer boom structure or its principal components. The length of the pendulum arm may be adjustable. The pendulum arm length may be selected to avoid harmonics of the modal vibrations of the sprayer boom when dry, when the spray lines are full, and when the spray heads on the boom are spraying. In a particular embodiment, harmonics of the principal frequencies of the vehicle suspension, sprayer tank slosh, and sprayer pump are also avoided. An apparatus for adjusting the pendulum length without changing the height of the boom above the crop is included in the disclosure. The spray booms may be tilt-biased together or independently, using a fluid transfer system. An apparatus for compensating the effective physical pendulum arm length to maintain a constant pendulum frequency after tilt-biasing is disclosed. A method of determining boom oscillation frequencies without resorting to extensive structural analysis is also included in the disclosure.
Abstract:
Robots 16a, 16b, 16c which are able to be motion trained and controlled by controller 18 are established in close proximity to transport line 12. A roller mechanism 34 with a roller 48 made from a material which absorbs and holds protective layer forming material is established at the tip end of each robot 16a, 16b, 16c. Protective layer forming material uses an acrylic type copolymer material which forms a peelable protective layer when dried. Controller 18 records the training data which trains robots 16a, 16b, 16c to rotate and move so that roller 48 contacts vehicle 14, and vehicle 14 which has finished with painting is introduced; robots 16a, 16b, 16c are made to move according to the training data, protective layer forming material is supplied to roller 48, and protective layer forming material is applied to vehicle 14. To automate the process of applying protective layer forming material, to improve production efficiency, to simplify operations, and to make application quality consistent.

A dispenser for a liquid crystal display panel includes a syringe having a nozzle provided at an end thereof, a body in which the syringe is mounted, a vertical driving stepping motor for moving the body in a vertical direction, a first sensor for detecting whether the nozzle of the syringe is in contact with a substrate, a second sensor for detecting a gap distance between the nozzle and the substrate, and a main unit for controlling the vertical driving stepping motor in response to an output from the second sensor to obtain a desired gap distance between the nozzle and the substrate.
Abstract:
A method for impressing holographic images or holograms in the surface of sporting and fitness products such as ball bats and bicycle frames. The surfaces of metal shims and print rolls bearing holograms are hardened as by coating them with thin amorphous diamond coatings or diamond like coatings so the holograms can be embossed into many thousands of metal objects with clarity and consistency.
Abstract:
A device for applying fluids to a moving substrate has at least one nozzle system provided with fluid from a supply channel that is coupled to a fluid source. A valve system cooperating with the nozzle has a valve element that is movable between open and closed positions, relative to an associated valve seat, to selectively dispense fluid from the nozzle. The device further includes at least one sensor configured to sense a position of the valve element relative to the valve seat. Signals from the sensor are utilized by a controller to generate control signals that regulate operation of the valve element.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a material library which comprises a plurality of different materials in spatial distribution in a three-dimensional substrate, in which the material composition continuously changes along a hypothetical spatial axis of the substrate and in this manner provides a three-dimensional material library. In addition, the present invention provides a process for producing continuous three-dimensional material libraries which comprise a plurality of different materials in a substrate, in which firstly a first substance is applied to a first surface of a substrate, then a second substance is applied to a second surface region of the substrate which is identical or different to the first surface region, in which then the substances are distributed in the interior of the substrate according to a predefined concentration gradient and then react with one another. In addition, the invention provides a process for determining physicochemical properties of constituents in sections of a three-dimensional material library, in which a first parameter is determined simultaneously at at least two sections using a first sensor, the first parameter giving an indication of a first property of the respective constituents and a further parameter being determined simultaneously by a further sensor, in which the further parameter gives an indication of a further property of the respective constituents. In addition the present invention provides a process for the non-destructive in situ determination of constituents in sections of a three-dimensional material library by using three-dimensional interaction of electromagnetic radiation with constituents of sections of a three-dimensional material library, so that the resulting material libraries can be tested in situ in a simple manner.
Abstract:
A system for positioning a spray apparatus relative to a surface, in which the spray apparatus directs a liquid coating such as paint toward the surface for applying the liquid to the surface in a spray pattern. A light beam emitter is interconnected with the spray apparatus, and emits a light beam in a predetermined orientation relative to the spray pattern such that the light beam strikes the surface in a center defined by the spray pattern when the spray apparatus is positioned a predetermined distance from the surface. The light beam is oriented such that the distance of the spray apparatus corresponds to a distance providing optimal application of the coating to the surface, to minimize waste and overspray. The light beam emitter may be engaged with the spray apparatus by a releasable mounting arrangement, such that the light beam emitter can be selectively mounted to the spray apparatus. The light beam is emitted from a light beam emitter housing, such as a laser generator. The angle of the light beam relative to the spray pattern can be adjusted so as to vary the distance from the surface at which the light beam coincides with the center of the spray pattern, to provide a gauge for optimal spray application for varying spray parameters.
