The seismic detectors positioned at known distances from the source, but outside the non-linear acoustic region, are used to detect arrivals of energy from the source. The arrival times and known distances are used to determine effective source firing time which is in turn used to calibrate the source for actual seismic operations.

    摘要: A method and device for testing inductive pulse generators of the type used as wheel-rpm feedback transducers in anti-wheel-lock action in automotive braking systems. Within a portion of the range of frequencies at which such inductive pulse generator produces output voltage pulses, the amplitude and frequency of such pulses vary approximately in proportion to each other. In accordance with the present invention, a quality characterization signal is derived which varies similarly to the ratio of pulse amplitude and pulse frequency. Thus, within such frequency range, or equivalently within the corresponding range of wheel rotation speed in the context specified above, the value of the quality characterization signal will be independent of the frequency or wheel rpm at which the test happens to be performed.

    摘要: A rapid and accurate method for calibrating an instrument for measuring the reflection coefficient and complex permittivity of unknown dielectric materials in a lumped capacitance method for an automatic network analyzer is described. The method includes the discovery that the capacitance of the instrument filled with air can be calculated by measuring only the reflection coefficients of the instrument filled with air and filled with a standard liquid of known permittivity, without the necessity of calculating the capacitance value from the dimensions of the instrument. The complex permittivity of the unknown can then be calculated by measuring the reflection coefficient of the instrument filled with the unknown dielectric. Complex permittivity measurements are useful in, for example, evaluating the time course of dielectric dispersions in biological samples.

    摘要: An incoming signal voltage of frequency fe, whose amplitude is to be measured, is additively heterodyned in a first mixer with a locally generated variable test frequency ft to provide a first beat frequency fi1 fe + ft clearing a first filter with a pass band including that beat frequency. In a second mixer, preceding a second filter with a narrow pass band centered on a second beat frequency fi2, the first beat frequency fi1 is subtractively heterodyned with a locally generated ancillary frequency fc of magnitude fi1 - fi2 to provide the frequency fi2 which passes the second filter and reaches an amplitude indicator through an adjustable amplifier or attenuator. In a calibrating position, a fixed reference frequency fo fi2 from a local oscillator is substituted for the input frequency fe whereas the test frequency ft is replaced by the ancillary frequency fc in the first mixer.

    摘要: A current detection module capable of differentiating and quantifying contribution to a current signal generated by a sensor in response to stimulation by a certain target source from contributions from sources other than the target source (ambient sources) is disclosed. As long as the contribution from the target source comprises a pulsed signal, the module may synchronize itself to the pulse(s) so that there is a predetermined phase relationship between the pulse(s) and functions carried out by various stages of the module. The module may be re-used to also detect and quantify contributions from ambient sources by presenting these contributions to the module as pulses that trigger synchronization of the module. To that end, a detection system disclosed herein is based on the use of such current detection module and allows mode switching where, depending on the selected mode of operation, the module is configured to perform different measurements.

    摘要: An AC voltage detection circuit includes a conversion module, a comparison module, and a prompt module. The conversion module connects to an AC power source and converts the AC voltage provided by the AC power source to an AC current, and then converts the AC current to a direct current (DC) voltage reflecting the AC voltage. The comparison module is connected to the conversion module, and compares the DC voltage with a first predetermined voltage and a second lesser predetermined voltage, and produces a control signal when the DC voltage is greater than the first predetermined voltage or less than the second predetermined voltage. The prompt module produces a prompt signal when receiving the control signal.

    摘要: A clamp-on multimeter measures alternating current flow in an electrical conductor. The multimeter includes a display, a housing including the display, a first sensor, a second sensor, a processor and an integrator. The first sensor has a magnetizable material core and inductively senses the alternating current. The first sensor includes a first clamp portion fixed to the housing and a second clamp portion pivotally coupled to the first clamp portion. The second sensor includes a Rogowski coil that has a non-magnetic core and inductively senses the alternating current. The processor receives an input signal in a first voltage range and sends an output signal to the digital display. The integrator scales a signal from the second sensor in a second voltage range to the first voltage range. The housing includes the processor, the integrator, and a selector configured to select the input signal to the processor from one of the first sensor and the integrator.
