摘要: The object is to provide a lysis method and lysis treatment solution for efficiently lysing cells of various Streptococcus bacteria in milk of a livestock animal to release a specific antigen substance contained in the cells for detecting whether causative bacterium of mastitis is a Streptococcus bacterium or not by using the milk, as well as a detection method using an immunochromatographic device. There is provided a method for lysing a Streptococcus bacterium, which comprises the step of mixing a lysis agent containing a lytic enzyme with milk obtained form a livestock animal to lyse a Streptococcus bacterium existing in the milk. The lytic enzyme is preferably at least one selected from the group consisting of lysozyme, labiase, and β-N-acetylglucosaminidase.

摘要: Various devices, systems and methods for detecting the presence of β-lactam antibiotic hydrolyzing bacteria in a sample are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of detecting the presence of β-lactam antibiotic hydrolyzing bacteria includes introducing the sample to a filter configured to capture bacteria in the sample; introducing a buffer solution to the bacteria captured on the filter surface, wherein the buffer solution comprises a β-lactamase substrate, a β-lactamase activator, and a lysing agent to lyse cells of the bacteria to release β-lactam antibiotic hydrolyzing enzymes; exposing a sensor having an electrical characteristic to a reaction mixture comprising the buffer solution and the β-lactam antibiotic hydrolyzing enzymes; and monitoring a change in the electrical characteristic of the sensor to detect the presence of the β-lactam antibiotic hydrolyzing bacteria in the sample originally introduced.

摘要: This invention provides a method for easily collecting antigens possessed by microorganisms without the use of special equipment. The method for collecting microbial antigens comprises: allowing a specimen containing microorganisms to pass through a filter membrane with a pore diameter that does not allow microorganisms to pass therethrough; capturing the microorganisms in the specimen on the filter membrane; applying a microbial destruction reagent capable of microbial membrane destruction to the filter membrane comprising the microorganisms captured thereon to destruct the captured microorganisms on the filter membrane; and collecting antigens in the filtrate.

摘要: A direct chemical lysis composition includes an assay compatible buffer composition and an assay compatible surfactant. When combined with a specimen storage composition, such compositions prevent undesired modifications to nucleic acid and proteins lysed from cells in the biological sample. Assays of samples from such compositions do not require expensive and time-consuming steps such as centrifugation and prolonged high temperature processing. The direct chemical lysis composition of the present invention permits direct nucleic acid extraction from the cells in the biological sample without the need to decant off the transport media or otherwise exchange the transport media with assay compatible buffers. There is no need to combine the sample with proteinase K or another enzyme to extract nucleic acids from the cells. A method for lysing cells to obtain target nucleic acid for assay and a kit for combining the direct chemical lysis composition with a sample are also contemplated.
