The technical solutions of embodiments of this application can reduce invalid data transmission, improve system resource utilization, and reduce a transmission delay of a data packet.

摘要: An apparatus may be configured to: determine to report an amount of data in a transmission buffer; determine respective values for a plurality of buffer-size fields that are configured to jointly indicate the amount of data in the transmission buffer, wherein the respective values are determined based on the amount of data in the transmission buffer; generate a buffer-status report, wherein the buffer-status report comprises, at least, the plurality of buffer-size fields; generate a protocol data unit, wherein the protocol data unit comprises, at least, the buffer-status report; and transmit the protocol data unit. An apparatus may be configured to: receive, from a user equipment, a protocol data unit; and determine at least one of: a lower bound for the data in the transmission buffer, or an upper bound for the data in the transmission buffer based on the plurality of buffer-size fields.

A device may generate a common field of an ultra-high reliability signal (UHR-SIG) content channel field, the common field including signaling for station devices; generate a number of spatial streams (NSS) subfield of a user specific field of the UHR-SIG content channel field, the user specific field addressed to a first station device of the multiple station devices; generate a 6-bit modulation and coding scheme (MCS) subfield of the user specific field, wherein the 6-bit MCS subfield maps, based on a number of spatial streams signaled by the NSS subfield, to one or more MCSs assigned to the first station device; generate a frame including the UHR-SIG content channel field, wherein a user field of the user specific field includes at least 22 bits including the MCS subfield; and send the frame.

Techniques described herein for a probabilistically shaped message to meet a quality requirement of an empirical probability distribution of the probabilistic shaped message being close to a target probability distribution. The closeness of the empirical probability distribution to the target probability distribution may be measured with a distribution closeness metric that is compared to a threshold. The distribution closeness metric may quantify a difference between the empirical probability distribution and the target probability distribution. Additionally, the distribution closeness metric may quantify a difference between respective moments of one or more orders of the empirical probability distribution and the target probability distribution.

A method for handling segmentation in a converged layer 2 (L2) communication network is provided. The method includes assigning, by a converged L2 of a transmitter, a L2 sequence number (SN) to a protocol data unit (PDU). The L2 SN includes at least one of a last segment indication (LSI) indicating a presence of a last service data units (SDU) of the complete PDU, a length indicator exist (LIE) indicating a presence of a length indicator (LI) after a L2 header, or a SI indicating a segmentation status or stage of the complete PDU, receiving, by a medium access control (MAC) layer of the transmitter, a grant opportunity or a transmission opportunity for transferring the PDU available at the converged L2, and sending the PDU to a lower layer of the transmitter for transmission to a receiver with or without segmentation based on the grant or a transmission opportunity.
