Abstract: A method is generally described which includes operating an electrical energy storage device or an electrochemical energy generation device includes configuring a controller with a control algorithm to control the actions of a controllable fluid flow device as a function of states of a mobile device using the electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device. The electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device is configured to provide electrical current. The method also includes providing a microchannel thermal control system for the electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device. The microchannel thermal control system is configured to alter the temperature at least portions of the electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device. The microchannel thermal control system is configured to flow a fluid through the microchannels and the fluid to receive heat generated by the electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device. The method further includes providing an electrical characteristic sensor coupled to the electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device and is configured to sense at least one electrical characteristic of the electrical energy storage device or the electrochemical energy generation device and to provide a signal representative of the at least one characteristic to the controller.

Abstract: Exemplary methods, systems and components are implemented on a multipassenger transit vehicle to provide passenger access to a pre-assigned interactive electronic media device associated with a passenger identification (ID) code or associated with an on-board situs location. The electronic media device may include a storage component, and a battery module that can periodically be replaced or recharged. Security techniques may provide protection against unauthorized usage of each electronic media device, and also help prevent unauthorized removal of the electronic media device from its approved location in the transit vehicle. Selective content may be accessible or downloaded via a communication node, wherein such content may include application programs or informational data specifically correlated with a media device location or a designated vehicle passenger. Selective content and/or operation capability for the electronic media device may be varied based on predetermined qualifications or passenger request.

Abstract: For example, and without limitation, an embodiment of the subject matter described herein includes a computer-implemented method. The computer-implemented method includes electronically receiving data indicative of a healthcare service provided to a particular patient. The received data includes at least one of data indicative of an activity within a proximity of the patient, or data inputted by the patient and relevant to determining an aspect of the healthcare service. The computer-implemented method includes converting the received data into information indicative of one or more units of service. The computer-implemented method includes estimating probable fees and costs incurred to date in providing the healthcare service. The estimating is responsive to the information indicative of units of healthcare service provided to the patient. The computer-implemented method includes outputting information indicative of the probable fees and costs incurred to date providing the healthcare service.
