Abstract:
Actuator elements are accommodated in openings formed in a conductive plate. These actuator elements are secured to the conductive plate by a resin bonding material. An electrode of each actuator element and the conductive plate are electrically connected to each other by a bridge junction consisting of an conductive paste. A paste application device discharges the conductive paste toward the bridge junction by air. A control unit configured to control the discharge of the conductive paste sets the air pressure according to the elapsed time of use of the conductive paste so that the height of the paste above the resin bonding material is not less than a target height. The target height is maintained by increasing the air pressure with increase of the elapsed time of use of the conductive paste.
Abstract:
An electrode structure of a piezoelectric element is provided. The piezoelectric element 23a (23b) constitutes a piezoelectric actuator 19 attached to an attaching part 30 of an object, to minutely move a movable part 15 of the object relative to a base part 13 of the object according to deformation occurring on the piezoelectric element in response to a power applied state of the piezoelectric element. The electrode structure in response an electrode 41a formed on one of a pair of electrode forming faces 31a and 31b of the piezoelectric element on an inner side of a peripheral zone 31a1, the peripheral zone being defined along the periphery of the electrode forming face 31a on which the electrode is formed. The electrode structure also includes a non-electrode part 51 formed in the peripheral zone. Even if the peripheral zone 31a1 of the electrode forming face 31a having a short-circuit causing possibility touches the attaching part 30, no short circuit occurs.
Abstract:
An interleaved circuit has first branch conductors branching from a first conductor, second branch conductors branching from a second conductor, a metal base, an insulating layer of a dielectric, and a cover resin layer. The metal base comprises an opening. The first branch conductors and the second branch conductors are arranged alternately in a transverse direction of the insulating layer. A slit is formed in the insulating layer and the cover resin layer. The slit comprises a pair of opposite walls and an air gap between the opposite walls. Air introduced into the air gap forms an air layer. The slit extends longitudinally relative to the interleaved circuit along at least a part of the branch conductors.
Abstract:
A seat back frame includes a main frame that forms a frame of a seat back of a main seat, and an auxiliary frame that forms a frame of a seat back of an auxiliary seat adjacent to the main seat in a width direction, and that is integrally formed with the main frame. The main frame has a first open portion that opens toward a side with the auxiliary seat in the width direction. An end portion of the auxiliary frame is a fitting structure that fits together with the first open portion, and a portion of the fitting structure is welded.
Abstract:
A structure of bearing housings of a cylinder block comprises aluminum alloy for constituting the whole cylinder block and a plurality of fiber reinforced metal (FRM) areas. The FRM areas are formed by integrally casting a sheet-like preform containing reinforced metal fibers with aluminum alloy. A plurality of such sheet-like preforms are separately provided in a bearing housing in an axial direction of a crankshaft.
Abstract:
A ceramics heater comprises a circular heater plate formed of aluminum nitride and a metal foil heater wire formed of a high-melting metal and having a thickness of 100 nullm to 175 nullm. The heater wire is embedded in the heater plate. The heater wire has an inside portion located near the center of the heater plate and formed in zigzags at first pitches in the circumferential direction of the heater plate and an outside portion located near the outer periphery of the heater plate and formed in zigzags at second pitches in the circumferential direction of the heater plate. The second pitches are shorter than the first pitches.
Abstract:
In a vehicle occupant restraint system for restraining a lower part of a vehicle occupant, an arrangement for moving a restraining member from a retracted position to a deployed position upon detection and/or prediction of a vehicle crash by a crash sensor is adapted in such a manner that the restraining member cannot be made to move from the deployed position to the retracted position by an external force applied to the restraining member but can be made to move from the retracted position to the deployed position and from the deployed position back to the retracted position by a force transmitted from a power actuator to the restraining member via a power transmitting member. Thus, while the restraining member is capable of withstanding the load of restraining the vehicle occupant, even when the restraining member is deployed, it can be brought back to the retracted position so that the restraining system can be used repeatedly. This is particularly significant when the crash sensor includes a crash prediction sensor because the prediction could be wrong and the restraining member may have to be deployed a number of times even when a vehicle crash has never occurred.
Abstract:
A head suspension for a disk drive includes a plate that is easily and correctly be attached to a carriage of the disk drive and improves the attaching accuracy and strength of the head suspension to the carriage. The head suspension includes the plate (19) and a load beam. The plate has a boss (23) that is formed separately from the plate. The boss has a base (39) fixed to the plate and a protrusion (41) fitted into a hole (37) of a carriage arm (9) of the carriage. The plate 19 has a through hole (57). The base of the boss is fitted into the through hole and is fixed to the plate. Under this state, the protrusion of the boss protrudes from a first face (61) of the plate, and the base of the boss protrudes from a second face (63) of the plate. An end face of the base of the boss serves as a contact face (51) for a jig (49).
Abstract:
In an accumulator comprising a pressure vessel, a bellows dividing the interior of the pressure vessel into a gas chamber filled with pressurized gas and a liquid chamber which communicates with a liquid pressure circuit via a liquid introduction port, a stay member attached to the inner surface of the pressure vessel inside the bellows and provided with a communication port for communicating the interior and exterior of the stay member with each other and adapted to be closed by a part of the bellows to define a fully contracted state of the bellows, and a safety valve provided in the stay member, typically in the form of a weakened portion of the stay member, for selectively communicating the exterior of the stay member with the interior of the stay member. Thus, because the safety valve is not provided in the pressure vessel itself, the safety valve of the present invention would not affect the sealing capability of the pressure vessel.
Abstract:
A pair of side rails with an L-shaped cross section are formed individually on the opposite side edge portions of a load beam. Each side rail includes a low rail portion and a high rail portion higher than the low rail portion. The low and high rail portions are situated in a region nearer to the distal end portion of the load beam with respect to its longitudinal direction than the center of gravity of the load beam.
