Abstract:
In a window with a frame of extruded profile members the exterior side of an edge portion of a thermo pane is supported by a first flange portion of the profile member and the inside by a glazing bead connected with the frame profile member. The main frame mainly consists of wood profiles, the exterior sides of which are covered by weather-resisting coverings. A hinge member at the top of the window comprises an edge portion (28) of an extruded profile member (27) forming a hinge pivot firmly connected to the main frame portion (20) at this side and a hook-shaped wall portion (6) of the opposite frame profile member (1) forming a hinge blade. At one of the other sides of the window an arrangement is provided to ensure engagement of said hinge pivot and hinge blade forming portions in the closed position of the window. Such arrangements may comprise a sliding block (31) arranged displaceably in a track in the frame profile member, which block can be moved between a position opposite a retaining device anchored in the main frame structure for permanently securing the frame in case of a fixed window and a position in which it can be connected to a motion transfer member which is guided in a recess in the wood profile of the main frame for complete accommodation of the motion transfer member in the closed position of an openable window.
Abstract:
The present invention is provided with a mechanism for controlling the opening and closing of a door comprising a speed reduction means for reducing a rotational speed. A high speed shaft is connected to the speed reduction means and is connectable to a means for rotating the input shaft, and a low speed output shaft is connected to the speed reduction means. A governor is mounted on the input shaft for limiting the rotational speed thereof, to also regulate the rotational speed of the output shaft. A brake is provided for preventing rotation of the output shaft, and a self-closing mechanism is operatively connected to the door. The self-closing mechanism is adapted for storing energy when the door is opened to an open position, and a connecting means operatively connects the output shaft to the self-closing mechanism. A releasing means is provided for releasing the brake to permit rotation of the output shaft under the urging of the self-closing mechanism whereby the self-closing mechanism releases the energy stored therein so as to close the door to a closed position when the brake is released by the releasing means.
Abstract:
A sliding gate control device consisting of an elongated rack member that is resiliently mounted across the lower extremities of a sliding gate that is movable by guide structure, and a control unit mounted adjacent to the guideway actuatable to provide a pinion gear drive for engagement with said rack member thereby to slidably move the gate laterally across the right of way. Adjustable tension assemblies provide the resilient rack mounting that assures a continual positive rack/pinion engagement for reliable operation.
Abstract:
A device for controlling swinging doors utilizing an externally powered motor to compress a spring during door opening to store energy in the spring. The motor is not used to open the door, but only to compress the spring, thereby utilizing a minimum amount of electrical energy and allowing for a very easy opening of the door. The motor acts as a generator during the closing of the door with generated electrical energy fed back to the motor to retard rotation of the rotor, providing a brake on the closing movement of the door. The feedback circuitry includes a switch for varying the braking during the final degrees of closing movement as well as a variable setting device allowing control of braking force.
Abstract:
A motorized window operator for opening and closing a window having a mechanical drive system including a rotatable drive axle. A housing contains a motor which is in operative engagement with a gear train having an output gear. The output gear is engageable with an engagement means mounted upon the drive axle of the window. For engaging the output gear train with the engagement means, operation of the motor will rotate the drive axle to either open or close the window according to desire. The gear train is dissengageable from the engagement means which at the same time dissengages power to the motor. The drive axle can then be manually operated.
Abstract:
A sliding patio door assembly is disclosed of the kind in which the door, when it is being closed, moves bodily laterally with respect to the slide track; i.e., forwardly with respect to the closing door panel. When fully closed, the door is entered into a recess, and a weather seal is compressed between the door and a lip surrounding the recess. The door is controlled, as to its lateral movement relative to the slide track, upon crank arms, and it is a feature of the disclosure that the crank arms are constrained to pivot in unison but in opposite senses of rotation. Another feature is that the crank arms lie at 90 degrees to the line of the slide track when the door is fully closed.
Abstract:
This invention concerns about an electric device for opening or shutting automotive doors, which comprises a transmitting device controlling opening or shutting the door and an electromagnetic coil controlling the door lock. The transmitting device uses a motor and an electromagnetic clutch which are able to operate to open or close the door by pushing of a rack and attain the aim of automatically controlling the opening or closing of the door.
Abstract:
A door operator with a reciprocable rack gear adapted to be actuated in opposite directions by an electric motor driven screw and a coaxial helical compression spring for rotating a drive gear of a door operating spindle in opposite directions for opening and closing a swinging door, the rack gear forming part of a spindle operator having lateral bearings engageable with the ends of the spindle and adapted to be mounted in either of two 180.degree. angularly spaced positions about the axis of the drive screw for rotating the spindle in opposite directions, and the coaxial compression spring being operable via the rack gear for biasing the spindle in both directions to an intermediate position thereof.
Abstract:
A closure operator particularly adapted for use with a station wagon tailgate type closure and adapted to permit randomly interchangeable operation of the tailgate in either one of a power mode and a manual mode, the closure operator including a driving member movable from a center position in opening and closing directions corresponding to movement of the closure toward an open position and a closed position, means defining a slot in the driving member, a driven member connected to the closure for moving the latter in the power mode and having a pin thereon engageable on the driving member in the slot, a reversible electric motor for moving the driving member in either one of the opening and closing directions, and a control circuit having a first manually actuable switch for energizing the motor to move the driving member away from the center position in either the opening or closing directions and a second switch responsive to the position of the driving member for reversing the motor to bring the driving member back to the center position and sequencing means for preventing reversing of the motor through the second switch until the first switch is deactuated. In the center position of the driving member the pin is located adjacent one or the other of the ends of the slot when the closure is in the open and closed positions so that movement of the closure in the manual mode effects lost motion between the driving and driven members as the pin traverses the length of the slot while movement of the driving member effects engagement between an end of the slot and the pin to effect movement of the driven member and the closure in the power mode.
