    Abstract: A heterophasic polyolefin composition comprising: (A) 50-0% of a crystalline propylene polymer; (B) 5-20% of a first elastomeric copolymer of ethylene with at least a C3-C8 α-olefin comonomer; and (C) 10-45% of a second elastomeric copolymer of ethylene with at least a C3-C8 α-olefin comonomer; wherein the ratio between the ethylene content of the fraction insoluble in xylene at room temperature (C2xif) multiplied by the weight percentage of the fraction insoluble in xylene at room temperature (% XIF) and the ethylene content of the fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature (C2xsf) multiplied by the weight percentage of fraction soluble in xylene at room temperature (% SXF) satisfies the following relation (I): C 2 ⁢ xif × % ⁢ XIF C 2 ⁢ xsf × % ⁢ SXF > 0.01 ⁢ x + 0.261 , wherein x is the total amount of ethylene.

    Abstract: A single- or multilayer threaded pipe, wherein at least one layer is produced from a polyolefin composition comprising (percentages express on the basis of the sum of components (A) and (B)): (A) 65-90 wt % of a heterophasic polypropylene composition comprising (percentages expressed on the basis of the polypropylene composition): (1) 65-95 wt % of a propylene polymer selected from propylene homopolymer and co- and terpolymers of propylene with a comonomer selected from ethylene, a C4-C10 alpha-olefin and a mixture thereof, said polymer containing 0.1-10 wt % of comonomer units, being insoluble in xylene at 25° C. in an amount over 85 wt %, having a polydispersity index ranging from 4 to 13 and an intrinsic viscosity ([η]1) value of over 2.2 dl/g; and (2) 5-35 wt % of an olefin polymer of ethylene with propylene or a C4-C10 alpha-olefin having an ethylene content ranging from 15 to 85 wt % and an intrinsic viscosity of the fraction soluble in xylene ([η]2) of at least 1.4 dl/g; wherein the ratio of the intrinsic viscosity value of propylene polymer (1) to that of olefin polymer (2) ([η]/[η]2) ranges from 0.45 to 1.6; and (B) 10-35 wt % of a at least one filler selected among calcium carbonate, talc, wollastonite or mixtures thereof.

    Abstract: A polypropylene composition comprising 65-77 wt % of a crystalline propylene polymer, 8 to less than 13 wt % of an elastomeric copolymer and 10-23 wt % of polyethylene. The said composition exhibits a flexural modulus value higher than 1300 MPa, stress-whitening resistance values corresponding to a diameter of the whitened area of at most 1.7 cm caused by a ram falling from a 76 cm height and a diameter of the whitened area of at most 1.2 cm caused by a ram falling from a 20 cm height, and a value of Izod impact resistance at 23° C. more than 14 kJ/m2 and the one at −20° C. at least 5 kJ/m2.

    Abstract: A solution process for polymerizing one or more α-olefins of formula CH2═CHR, where R is H or an alkyl radical C1-12, to produce a polymer that is soluble in the reaction medium, the process comprising: (a) polymerization in a solution phase of one or more α-olefins in the presence of an organo-aluminum compound and a catalyst system comprising a transition metal compound as the catalyst component; (b) the polymeric solution obtained from step a) is then pressurized and transferred by means of a screw pump to a successive step for removing the unreacted monomers from the polymer; wherein the pumping capacity of said screw pump is kept constant by adding the polymeric solution with water at a feeding point upstream the screw pump.

    Abstract: A continuous process for the olefin polymerization in a fluidized bed reactor, said process comprising continuously passing a gaseous stream comprising one or more α-olefin monomers through the fluidized bed in the presence of a polymerization catalyst under reactive conditions, withdrawing polymeric product and unreacted fluids from the reactor, cooling part of said unreacted fluids below the dew point to form a two-phase mixture of gas and condensed liquid and reintroducing said two-phase mixture into the reactor, the process being characterized in that said two-phase mixture is reintroduced under the distribution plate of the reactor so that a part of condensed liquid is separated from the gas and is successively fed above the fluidized bed through an external pipe connecting the bottom of the reactor to a point situated above the upper limit of the fluidized bed of polymer particles.

    Abstract: A polyolefin composition comprising (parts by weight) (A) 100 parts of a crystalline isotactic propylene polymer resin having a molecular weight distribution ( Mw/ Mn) less than 3, the proportion of inversely inserted propylene units based on 2,1 insertions of a propylene monomer in all propylene insertions, i.e. 2,1 insertions, is as low as 0.5% or less, and a value of the melt flow rate (MFR) from 20 to 60 g/10 min; and (B) 0.1-1 part of a high molecular weight propylene polymer (B) having a value of melt strength from 5 to 40 cN.Fibres prepared from the said composition exhibit a good balance between elasticity and tenacity.
