Abstract: In some examples, an optical fiber may include a clad portion and an exposed fiber core that extends from the clad portion. Multiple such optical fibers may be included in a fiber bundle having a condensed region of fiber cores spaced at a first center-to-center spacing and a non-condensed region of clad portions spaced at a second center-to-center spacing greater than the first center-to-center spacing. Such optical fibers may be formed with exposed fiber cores ab initio.

Abstract: Techniques described herein generally relate to a task management system for a chip multiprocessor having multiple processor cores. The task management system tracks the changing instruction set capabilities of each processor core and selects processor cores for use based on the tracked capabilities. In this way, a processor core with one or more failed processing elements can still be used effectively, since the processor core may be selected to process instruction sets that do not use the failed processing elements.

Abstract: Technologies are described for methods and compounds for mitigating dag on hair. The method comprises applying a monofunctional compound comprising a hydrophobic tail and a reactive head to the hair and applying a difunctional compound to the hair. The difunctional compound has a first functional component and a second functional component. The application of the difunctional compound enables the first functional component to react with the reactive head of the monofunctional compound, the second functional component to form a matrix in situ with the hair, and the hydrophobic tail of the monofunctional compound to extend from the hair. The hydrophobic tail imparts its hydrophobicity to the hair to mitigate the dag.

The reactions may be conducted in a reactive extruder to provide a single-step synthesis.

The technology can transmit the content, wherein the first portion of the content was compressed using the first compression method and the second portion was compressed using the second compression method.

In some examples, a processor may generate image data from light reflected from a real object. The image data may represent, or may be a digital representation of, the real object. The processor may analyze a skin stack of augmented reality skins and identify one of the augmented reality skins stored in the memory. The augmented reality skin may include instructions effective to modify some of the image data when the image data includes a feature. The processor may create metadata related to the image data. The metadata may relate to the presence of the feature in the image data. The processor may store the metadata in the memory.

Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing or eliminating corrosion of components of a reactor system, including a supercritical water gasification system, are described. The reactor system may include a reactor vessel configured to receive a reactor fluid through a reactor fluid inlet and a product source fluid corrosive to portions of the reactor system through a product source fluid inlet. The product source fluid may react with the reactor fluid to produce one or more reaction products, such as a fuel gas. The product source fluid inlet may be arranged within the reactor fluid inlet such that the product source fluid entering the reactor vessel is encased by a fluid conduit formed by the flow of reactor fluid entering the reactor vessel. The layer may operate to reduce corrosion by forming a barrier between the product source fluid and the surface of the reactor fluid inlet and/or the reactor vessel.
