Abstract: Temperature variations in a patient's body can lead to inaccurate glucose readings. To compensate for changes in temperature, the temperature at a glucose sensing site can be sensed using a thermocouple. A compensated glucose level can be determined based on the temperature and the sensed glucose level. A glucose sensing device is described that includes a glucose sensor having a working electrode and a thermocouple having a junction positioned proximate the working electrode, with both the glucose and temperature sensors including the same metals.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for detection and reduction of wind noise in audio devices are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method includes acquiring and transforming the audio signals. Correlations from the transformed audio signals are computed. A cross correlation index is compared to a predetermined value to determine if a wind noise spectral content is present. In another embodiment, an apparatus includes an audio processing unit to receive non-decomposed audio signals, and an audio decomposition unit to receive the non-decomposed audio signals and to generate decomposed audio signals. A wind noise spectrum estimation unit receives non-decomposed audio signals and decomposed audio signals and identifies wind noise spectral components in at least one of the non-decomposed and decomposed audio signals. A wind noise spectrum reduction unit receives the wind noise spectral components and removes the wind noise spectral components from at least one of the non-decomposed and the decomposed audio signals.

Abstract: A control circuit receives a first clock signal at a first frequency, a frequency division signal specifying a divisor number, and a second clock signal at a second frequency (higher than the first frequency). The control circuit includes a phase control block that defines non-overlapping portions of a pulse of the second clock to include center, left and right portions. A determination is then made as to whether an edge of the first clock is located within the center portion. In response to such a determination, a number of periods of the second clock signal which occur within one or more periods of the first clock signal is compared to a number derived from the divisor number to generate a frequency selection signal indicative of that comparison. A controlled oscillator circuit generates the second clock signal at the second frequency, wherein the second frequency is specified by the frequency selection signal. To the extent the edge of the first clock is located within either the left or right portions, phase adjustment is made to move the edge towards the center portion.

Abstract: A micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) actuator circuit and method. The circuit includes a current mirror, a voltage divider having an interior contact and coupled between the mirror output and a potential, an operational amplifier having an input coupled to the interior contact and a switch having input/output contacts separately coupled to the amplifier output and the mirror input and having a switch control. The amplifier output can be coupled to a digital control circuit which can be coupled to the switch control contact and to a digital to analog circuit (DAC) which can be coupled to the digital control circuit and to another amplifier input. An enable signal at the switch control couples the switch input/output contacts together. The capacitance of a MEMS capacitor coupled to the mirror output is determined by measurement of time for the amplifier output to switch from one level to another following a change in DAC output potential.

Abstract: Vertical dithering is performed for vertical droop compensation in image processing using Linear Feedback Shift Registers (LFSRs). Line memories are not used. A compensation circuit includes a signature reload input signal coupled to the input of five LFSRs. Each LFSR includes a signature store. The output of each LFSR provides a sequence output signal that is gated with a corresponding enable signal in a first logic circuit. The output of all of the first logic circuits are combined in a second logic circuit to provide a control signal output.

Abstract: According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a plurality of light-emitting diode (LED) modules in series are monitored. When an LED module is detected as failing or operating inadequately, a bypass switch removes the particular LED module from the series and the voltage provided to the series is modified. When the LED modules are detected as having too high of a temperature, the current provided to the LED modules is limited.
