Abstract:
A slow open slow close hinge assembly for an appliance includes a first hinge assembly including a base; a tab projecting outwardly from the base in a first direction; a support projecting outwardly from the base in a second direction; a hinge arm pivotably connected to the tab via a first pivot point; a tail portion extending through an opening in the base; a slow open slow close dampener operably connected between the support at a second pivot point and the tail portion at a third pivot point; wherein a neutral position for the dampener occurs when the first, second and third pivot points are aligned substantially in a straight line.An appliance includes a body; a door; first and second hinge positions for pivotably connecting the door to the body; wherein each of the first and second hinges includes a base; a tab projecting outwardly from the base in a first direction; a support projecting outwardly from the base in a second direction; a hinge arm pivotably connected to the tab via a first pivot point; a tail portion extending through an opening in the base; a slow open slow close dampener operably connected between the support at a second pivot point and the tail portion at a third pivot point; wherein a neutral position for the dampener occurs when the first, second and third pivot points are aligned substantially in the same plane.A slow open slow close dampener for an appliance hinge includes a body and a rod selectively extensible from and retractable into the body, wherein when the hinge moves from a first operative position, the rod retracts into the body, then the hinge moves to a neutral position and then the hinge moves to a second operative position and the rod extends out of the body.
Abstract:
A pulley having an axis of rotation includes a flexible projection portion configured for rotatable snap-lock engagement with an object having an aperture.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for opening a door (48) from a remote location including a lever assembly (20) and a pulling line (22), the pulling line (22) having attached thereto a door handle engagement (60), the lever assembly (20) including at least a first guide (40) and a second guide (42) for guiding the pulling line (22) and a mounting means (24) for mounting the lever assembly (20)to or adjacent a door (48), the first and second guides (40,42) being positioned such that when the pulling line (22) is prevented from moving through the first guide (40) pulling on the pulling line (22) acts to cause the lever assembly (20) to apply a force to urge the door to open (48). This apparatus allows an operator to gradually open a door or to apply a suitable force if, for example, the door (48) is stuck in the closed position.
Abstract:
A gear mechanism part for a cable-controlled window lifter is provided that includes a gear wheel and a cable drum that can be driven by the gear wheel. The gear wheel and cable drum are disposed on a common axis. The gear wheel and the cable drum are coupled by a positive fit to an outside gearing disposed on an outside circumference projection. In the cable drum, a fitting chamber for cable end fastening is provided. The fitting chamber is disposed inside the outer circumference projection on a cross-sectional plane projected perpendicular to the axis. In this way, a more compact design of the cable drum and transmission of higher driving torque are achieved.
Abstract:
A door opening/closing apparatus is provided with a motor, a first clutch which transmits power from the motor to a door opening/closing mechanism of a slide door when current is applied to the motor while breaking transmission of power to the door opening/closing mechanism of the slide door when current is not applied, and a second clutch which transmits power from the motor to a door opening/closing mechanism of a back door when current is applied while breaking transmission of power from the motor to the door opening/closing mechanism when current is not applied.
Abstract:
A pulley assembly for an overhead counter weight door features a base plate and a support arrangement carried on and spaced from the base plate so that the base and support arrangements face toward one another. A shaft is carried on the base plate and the support arrangement to extend therebetween with a pulley supported on the shaft between the base plate and the support arrangement for rotation about an axis defined by the shaft. A plurality of wall sections extends between the base plate and the support arrangement to establish connection therebetween radially outward from the shaft beyond an outer periphery of the pulley on more than two sides thereof.
Abstract:
A window regulator assembly is described that comprises a window having a rear, front, bottom, and top edge, front and rear window run channels in which the rear and front window edges reversibly move, a plurality of carrier plates in contact with the bottom edge of the window, a plurality of pulleys, a plurality of pulley attachments, a cable wire, and a drive unit. Many of the components of the window regulator assembly may be formed from a thermoplastic material.
Abstract:
A brake device for a cable-operated door operated by a tension cable, being mountable onto the cable-operated door and configured for cooperating with the tension cable so as to immobilize the cable-operated door with respect to the fixed structure by a braking arm in the event of a loss of tension in the cable. The brake device is provided with an anti-theft mechanism including a catcher assembly and a protrusion operatively projecting from the braking arm. The catcher assembly is operatively connectable to the fixed structure and the protrusion is shaped, positioned and sized with respect to the catcher assembly so as to be engaged with the catcher assembly when the braking arm is operated into the engaged configuration caused by a given loss of tension in the cable, thereby preventing the cable-operated door from being displaced upwardly along the fixed structure as a result of the catcher assembly abutting against the protrusion of the braking arm.
Abstract:
In a window regulator 10, when a pin bolt 42 provisionally attached to a pulley 22 and a pulley support 54 is fastened to a door panel 14 by a nut 52, the pulley 22 and the pulley support 54 are supported on the pin bolt 42 and attached to a predetermined position on the door panel 14. Here, in the above-described provisionally attached state, the pin bolt 42 is held in the pulley 22 by pin member holding claws 74 of the pulley 22, and the pulley 22 is held in the pulley support 54 by pulley holding claws 68 of the pulley support 54. Consequently, when the pin bolt 42 is to be fastened to a body panel, the pulley 22, the pulley support 54, and the pin bolt 42 can be handled as a single part. Thus, the work of attaching a pulley and a pulley support to a body panel of a vehicle can be facilitated.
Abstract:
In a block and tackle window balance, the balance shoe holds and upwardly biases the terminal connector in a mounted position. A biasing element of the shoe maintains the terminal connector in a pocket of the shoe during operation of the balance. The terminal connector is prevented from laterally exiting the pocket in the mounted position by a widened portion on the terminal connector and a locating surface extending from the shoe toward the pocket. Manually pressing down on the biasing element or the terminal connector itself to lower the terminal connector in the pocket until the widened portion clears the locating surface allows lateral removal of the terminal connector from the pocket. During operation of the balance, however, the terminal connector does not experience a sufficient downward force to overcome the upward bias such that the widened portion never clears the locating surface.
